Dirty Dancing

August 30, 2011

Done! Loved it !
Now I can say that it really is one of the greatest love stories of movie history. Patrick Swayze is a total badass dreamboat tough guy turned good(and the way he dances !!). And Baby, even if she was a total wuss in the beginning, she's the classic good girl turned bad. The movie is truly iconic. It immediately got a spot in my favourites .
And I've got the song stuck in my head, but I'm ok with that.
Everyone who hasn't watched it yet, please do.

Cycle chic

I went to the hairdresser's today. No drastic changes, as you can see. I just had my ends cut, so now my hair looks a lot more healthy than it did before.
I'm going to watch "Dirty Dancing" now, because I have nothing better to do with my time and I have had it for over a year now and still haven't seen it !!
My plan for tonight is to go to the Rooftop cinema to see "Biutiful" on one condition- if it doesn't rain !

Photoshoot: Lazerhearts

August 29, 2011

It's finally time to share the pictures from our photoshoot with you. Almost exactly a week later than they were taken. The theme was all about quirky and unusual glasses. Each of us kind of has our theme, that was revolving around our glasses. The three of us were - cute, nerdy and funky (it sounds like a twisted version of Powerpuff girls.., oh well) .
I've also redesigned my blog to give it a new appearance for fall. Later tonight, I'll also change the header, but it still needs a bit of work. I think my little Bowtie Diary looks much better now, but you'll be the judges of that :)

what might be the last day of summer

August 27, 2011

The crop-top is making a second appearance.. in a row. And the dress is something I kind of rediscovered again. I hadn't worn it pretty much all summer and now, on the what might be the last warm day of summer, I decided to finally wear it.
The milkmaid braid is becoming my favourite hairstyle. It's extremely comfortable, doesn't need any adjustment throughout the day and looks .. fun :)
I went to the flea market today, and since the weather was incredibly warm, this outfit was perfect. I got a lovely bracelet, a sterling silver ring for under a euro(win!) and another pair of sunglasses.

90's kid

August 25, 2011

Being a true girl of the nineties I love the comeback that my first decade is making. It is quite weird to think that soon something that was bought in the nineties will be considered vintage. That makes me feel really old..
Anyway, when I first saw this top at the sales, I was completely broke and decided that when I get money, I'll hope it's still there for me to buy. And it was! Plus it was even cheaper. I didn't even consider wearing it as it was, I immediately took a pair of scissors and chopped the bottom off it. Another lovely thing about that top is that from the front it seems like the plainest grey shirt, but at the back.. party ! I love the open back detail so much !
I wore it today to the movies. I went to see "Smurfs" with my sister, Getter and her siblings.I remembered that I used to have a Smurfs puzzle when I was little so when their little mushroom houses appeared on the screen, I felt a bit nostalgic. Other than that..it was a fun movie. But I think that I mostly laughed over the movie, not because of the jokes. Phrases like son of a smurf, what the smurf, I think I just smurfed, get the smurf out of hereI smurf you and so on just get a little ridiculous and annoying by the end of the movie. Oh, and Neil Patrick Harris spoke in Estonian. Now, that was hilarious !
Well, I think I'm going to go and search for the puzzle now and leave you with one of my favourite songs from when I was 5.

Golden girl

August 23, 2011

Summer is back! At least for now. Today was sunny and warm and just a lovely August day.
I sadly discovered that I hadn't worn my favourite shoes nearly as much as I'd wanted to, so today gave the perfect opportunity to make things right. Even if I had to be on my feet the whole day, even if I nearly fell and stumbled many times on the not so even paths of Patarei, it was still worth it. I have no idea what's it about the shoes that makes me love them as much as I do, because well.. they're golden ! But the straps and the chunky heel and the fact that they are really comfortable makes up for their lack of perfection in colour.
Now about why I was at the deserted prison area... It's a really cool spot right on the Culture kilometer, which used to be a jailhouse, but is now a cultural place. They even have a beach and a cafe ! And I like the architecture so so much, it's really as beautiful as a prison house can be. I'm a total architecture junkie, by the way. I want to hear Ted's fun facts about New York!
Anyway, I had a photo shoot with Getter and Kaisa. The theme was.. glasses. It might sound weird, but we had gathered a perfect set of three pairs of glasses, each of them odd in their own way.
Right now, I'll leave you all full of expectations and I hope you have a wonderful week !

simple as a walk in the park

August 20, 2011

I spent Wednesday evening with Getter at Kalamaja. It was yet another outdoor cinema. The movie was "Impromtu" with a really really young Hugh Grant who played Chopin. It was a cute romantic comedy, nothing too special.

Before the movie we discovered a really cute park. Turns out that Tallinn in fact has wonderful central-park-like parks. This wonderful one is situated right next to the Culture kilometer in Kalamaja. Of course, my mind began to wander how sometime in the future I'm living in a cool Kalamaja apartment in a scenic old wooden house and in the morning I can go for a jog in the park with my dog. Or the same thing in New York with a brownstone and Central Park.
Since it is the end of August already and the nights are quite chilly, I decided to wear warmer clothes and not rely on the blankets that they might have. And it seems that my suede jacket and scarf did the trick, it was not cold. Oh, and the story behind this scarf is that I found it from a thrift store ages ago for an incredibly cheap price. The tag on it says Burberry and the true optimist in me likes to believe that this is a real Burberry scarf. Even if my friends make fun of me because of that. The scarf is a Burberry and forever will be.
Enjoy these (somewhat goofy) pictures and I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!
