Meet my MÄRSS

Remember this gorgeous backpack from my last post? Well, this is my MÄRSS - a stunning one-of-a-kind creation made of vegan leather. I'd always thought that I'm not a backpack kind of girl, but after laying eyes on the unique MÄRSS bags and then getting to try one, I was sold! For about three weeks now, this bag has travelled with me to corners of Estonia and I'm so not tired of it yet. 

It fits everything I need for a long weekend and that includes a lot. I'm talking about three outfits, camera, computer, probably a book, bottle of water, napkins, food and everything else I think utterly necessary. Okay, the bag gets heavy, but doesn't lose its shape and crawl all the way up my back. The straps are not adjustable, but that doesn't bother me one bit, because they're strong and supportive. If there's one thing I'm missing, it's a few little compartments on the inside for little things. Other than that, I think I've found my favorite bag for this autumn!

Mäletate seda ägedat seljakotti mu eelmisest postitusest? Selle nimi on MÄRSS ja see on eriti cool ja ainulaadne vegan nahast leiutis. Arvasin alati, et ma pole absoluutselt seljakoti inimene, aga pärast seda, kui MÄRSS'i kotte nägin ja seda veel proovida ka sain, olen täielikult usku vahetanud. See kott on minuga nüüd umbes kolm nädalat igal pool kaasas käinud, reisinud Paidesse ja Pärnusse, Läänemaale ja Tartusse ja ma ei ole sellest veel absoluutselt väsinud. 

Suur pluss on loomulikult see, et see kott on põhjatu. Sinna mahub kõik pikaks nädalavahetuseks vajalik sisse ja mõttetute suvaliste asjade jaoks jääb ruumi veel ülegi. Tavaliselt kannan kaasas mitut komplekti riideid, kaamerat, arvutit, raamatut, vett, süüa, meigikotti ja igasugust muud kraami. Kott läheb küll raskeks, aga jääb kujult ikka ilusaks ja ei hakka mööda selga vastikult üles ronima, mis tihti seljakottidega juhtub. Õlarihmasid ei saa küll reguleerida, aga seda pole tegelikult vajagi. Need on piisavalt tugevad ja toetavad ning igasugused jubinad seal küljes hakkaksid ilmselt ebameeldivalt soonima. Ainus, millest ma MÄRSS'i puhul puudust tunnen on mingid väikesed taskukesed koti sees. Kui see pisiasi välja jätta, siis mulle tundub, et olen enda selle sügise lemmikkoti leidnud.

Scandinavian cool

You know, how in all the Swedish-Danish streetstyle blogs people seem to wear the simplest, most basic clothes and still look like the coolest things on Earth? Well, when I saw this dress on the rack for 8 euros, that was the first thing that came to my mind. The second was, whether I'm cool enough to pull it off. After considering buying it, actually buying it and wearing it for two days, I'm sure that I am. 

The dress is plain enough to keep all the attention on my new backpack, which I just can't seem to not take everywhere with me, but more on that in my next post. (Yes, I'm that sneaky.) Of course, I couldn't go full-normcore with the dress and wore my silver brogues too. These shoes keep bringing me back to this cool location. Remember April? 

Teate küll, kuidas kõikides Rootsi ja Taani tänavamoe blogides inimesed kannavad maailma kõige tavalisemaid riideid, aga näevad ikka välja nagu kõige lahedamad olevused maailmas? Kui seda kleiti 8 euro eest müügis nägin, tulid just need lõpmatud pildid mulle silme ette. Järgmine mõte oli, kas ma olen sama lahe ja suudan selle kleidi välja kanda. Pärast arutlemist ja ostmist ja kaht päeva kandmist, tundub, et vist olen jah.

Kleit on täpselt nii lihtne, et kogu tähelepanu säilib mu uuel seljakotil, mis käib minuga viimasel ajal igal pool kaasas, aga sellest räägin pikemalt oma järgmises postituses. (Mhm, selline salapärane olengi.) Päris üleni normcore ei tahtnud ma ka ikka olla ja panin väikese põnevuse säilitamiseks oma hõbedased kingakesed jalga. Need ikka viivad mind kogu aeg sinna lahedasse nurgakesse tagasi. Aprilli mäletate?

A new life

I'm giving my kimono a second life outside of festival territory. I realised that in addition to floral crowns, dainty dresses and Bastille, it also looks great with my favourite basics and the excitement of an approaching storm. The colours and blossoms and fringe give so much extra to an otherwise plain (or perfect?) outfit. I love how the wind made the delicate chiffon dance and play, while there was some pretty definite thunder on the background. A moment of opposites. 

Annan oma kimonole teise elu, väljaspool festivaliala. Avastasin, et lisaks lillekroonidele, armsatele kleitidele ja Bastille'le sobib see imehästi ka minu lemmikasjade ja läheneva tormi energilise õhkkonnaga. Kimono värvid, mustrid ja narmad annavad muidu nii tavalisele (ideaalsele?) komplektile mõnusalt särtsu juurde. Ja mulle nii meeldib, kuidas tuul paneb selle õhulise materjali tantsima ja lendlema, samal ajal kui taustal käivad valjud kõuekõmakad. Mõnus vastandeid täis hetk.

Christmas in August

Today I paid a visit to Lumene's office and after a little while, left with big gift bags full of every make up product imaginable. Who's not familiar, Lumene is a Finnish skincare brand, whose products are 80% organic. Whether it's blueberries, cloudberries or arctic minerals, their tubes and pots are filled with natural goodness. 

So after coming home with a stash of you-name-it, I made myself a promise to make my make-up-routine something a bit more than just moisturiser and mascara. I'm all up for testing all that I got and there really is everything from cleansing products and plain moisturisers to primers and concealers to lipsticks and eye liners. 

Let me know if you'd like to know my non-beauty-blogger opinion on some of the things I've tested. I might just pull myself together and bring "Beauty product of the month" back.... 

Käisin täna Lumene kontorist läbi ja pärast mõningast ajaveetmist lahkusin sealt suurte kinkekotitäite meigiasjadega. Kes veel kursis ei ole, siis Lumene on Soome nahahooldustootete firma, mille kreemid-asjad koosnevad kuni 80% looduslikest toorainetest. Kui olin kogu selle kraamiga koju jõudnud, tegin endale lubaduse, et muudan enda igapäevast meigirutiini ja teen sellest pisut rohkem kui lihtsalt niisutava kreemi ja ripsmetuši pealekandmine. Tahan juba kõiki neid uusi asju proovida, sest seal tõesti on kõike alates puhastusvahenditest ja niisutajatest kuni meigialuskreemide ja peitekreemide ning huulepulkade ja laineriteni.

Breton on the boat

I finally got the film in my old camera developed and discovered this set of very windy pictures on it! These were taken in June, when the weather was far from summery and a light coat was more than necessary. I was just en route to Saaremaa with my family, having just been to Pärnu for almost a week, so I'd taken with me the biggest basics. You know, to survive a week away from home with a normal-sized luggage. These pictures are (obviously!) taken on the boat, hence the overwhelming wind. Don't you just think that a breton is the only right thing to wear while on the sea, even if it's just for thirty minutes? 

Lasin lõpuks enda vana kaamera filmi ära ilmutada ja leidsin sealt sellise toreda komplekti pilte! Need on tehtud juunis, kui ilm oli veel selline, et päeval ilma kerge mantlita õue ei tahtnud minna. Olin perega just Saaremaale minemas, enne seda olin peaaegu nädalakese Pärnus veetnud, nii et minuga olid kaasas ainult kõige basicumad asjad. Teate küll, selleks, et kodust eemal veedetud nädalaks vähegi normaalse suurusega kott kaasa võtta. Need pildid ongi täpselt praami peal tehtud (üllatav, eksole!), sellest ka see meeeeletu tuul. 

Kas te ei leia, et selline triibuline särk on ainuõige asi, mida ühel merereisil kanda, olgugi, et see kestab vaid pool tundi?

Another side of summer sun

You've already seen this dress in a more "it's so cold, but I'm going to pretend it's not" spring outfit here, but this time, when invited to see Baltika Group's fall/winter fashion show, I remember this beauty and its amazing back cut-out. So it got a nice little summer-moment with only black pumps and a masculine watch as accessories, nicely photographed for the archives of Bowtie Diary by my mother. Also, I have to mention once again that a dress that has pockets is an instant winner in any book. 

The show itself was, in addition to being a sauna, quite nice. I say nice and not any other much bigger word, because I've seen Baltika do so much greater ones. I remember two seasons ago, I wanted absolutely everything from Monton's collection and a few things from the other brands. This time I liked a few dresses, a coat and a pair of trousers. Still, I'm waiting for the sales to treat myself with something nice.

See kleit on kevadel juba blogis oma nägu näidanud, aga sellises "mul on nii külm, aga ma täiega teesklen, et ei ole" kevadises riietuses siin. Nüüd tuli see mul jälle meelde ja ma taasavastasin selle kleidi imelise seljaosa ning kandsin seda Baltika Grupi sügis-talvisel moeshowl. Suvise variandi jaoks mõtlesin, et peale mustade kingade ja maskuliinse olegi nagu midagi muud vaja, et Kopli lõpus merekooli ilusa maja juures poseerida (järjekordne peidetud aare Tallinnas). Ema aitas mul selle outfiti Bowite Diary arhiivide jaoks üles ka pildistada ja tegi väga head tööd. Mainiksin ka ikka ja jälle, et taskutega kleidid on parimad. 

Moe-show ise oli, lisaks saunalaadsele temperatuurile, päris tore. Ütlen tore ja mitte mingit suuremat sõna, sest Baltika on minu arvates palju paremaid hooaegu teinud. Eelmise talve kollektsioone vaadates tahtsin absoluutselt igat asja, mida Monton näitas ja teistest kollektsioonidest ka nii mõndagi. Sel korral meeldis mulle vaid paar kleiti, üks mantel ja püksid. Sellegipoolest ootan juba talviseid allahindluseid, et end millegi ilusaga kostitada.

A story about porcelain

That one day I went to H&M with my sister (It's cool that I can say that because we've upgraded and now, as the rest of the world, house a few eich'n'ems in our country.) and we weren't looking for anything specific. Then I noticed this pretty porcelain-pattern dress hanging on the window and behind it, on the table, was a pair of shorts with the same pattern. That kind of white-and-blue pattern is so hot right now (as Mugatu would say) and I'd been eyeing stuff with it on the internet a lot. So when I found something in the shop I kind of wanted it. I'm not the most shorts-wearing-girl, so however pretty they were, I turned to the dress. Why is my sister important in this story? Well, she too liked the dress. Since we're about the same size, we grabbed the dress and headed for the changing rooms. Guess what, it was a perfect fit for the both of us, but in a cool different way. Neither of us really needed another dress and we kept making up apologies (10 euros for a dress is cheap, but it's still money; kind of a skimpy material; how many warm days are there going to be anyway; ...). The solution: we split the money and both got the dress, no sibling rivalry about who should get to own it. It's hanging in my closet, but she has just as much right to wear it as I do and it's a great deal and I want to buy more clothes for sharing. 

Ühel päeval läksin õega H&M'i (mul on hea meel, et me ka lõpuks ajaga kaasas käime ja saame oma riigis eitsh änd emmi võõrustada), lihtsalt niisama, ilma mingi kindla sihita. Kohe sisse astudes märkasin seda portselanimustriga kleiti aknal rippumas ja selle taga, laual, sama mustriga lühikesi pükse. See valge-sinisekirju muster on praegu nii kuum ja ma olen veetnud korraliku hulga aega internetis sellise mustriga asju vaadates. Seega, kui ma leidsin täitsa kodu juurest poest portselanimustriga millegi, tahtsin seda. Ma ei ole just suurim lühikeste pükste kandja ning hoolimata nende ilust jätsin püksid kohe kõrvale. Miks mu õde selles loos oluline on? Sest talle meeldis ka see kleit. Kuna me oleme enam-vähem sama mõõtu, haarasime kleidi ja seadsime sammud riietusruumi poole. Kujutage ette, see istus meile mõlemale nagu valatult, aga lahedalt erineval moel. Samas, kummalgi meist tegelikult polnud veel üht kleiti vaja ja korraks isegi mõtlesime igasuguseid vabandusi välja (10 eurot kleidi eest on küll odav, aga samas see on ka ikkagi raha; trikotaaž ei ole just parim materjal maailmas; kui palju sooje suvepäevi ikka tuleb; ...). Lahendus: tegime hinna pooleks ja saime mõlemad endale kleidi, polnud mingit õdedevahelist õelust. See ripub küll minu kapis, aga ta võib iga kell seda kanda ja see on nii geniaalne diil ja ma tahan veel niimoodi asju kahepeale osta.

My three festival outfits

My festival outfits are here, all taken with a dear old film camera. I did take my Nikon 1 hybrid with me, but decided to leave it in the card. I wouldn't have got in the festival area with it anyway and it's too valuable to leave in the tent. So I carried my little one with me and spared some room for outfit pictures too. 

My festival-summer is over for this year, but if you have some cool field-party with thousands of people, hot band guys and flowers crowns ahead of you, then I hope you find some inspiration below. Or if not, then there's always next year. I know I'm looking forward to it already! 

Lõpuks on minu festivalipildid ka blogisse jõudnud, kõik minu armsa filmikaameraga tehtud. Võtsin küll oma Nikoni hübriidi ka kaasa, aga festivalialale sellega niikuinii ei saanud ja telgis ei julgenud hoida, seega jätsin seekord hea kaamera autosse ja kandsin oma väikest filmikat kaasas.

Minu festivalisuvi on selleks aastaks läbi, aga kui teil on veel ees mõni äge põllul toimuv pidu koos tuhande teise inimese, kuumade bändikuttide ja lilleliste peavõrudega, siis ehk leiate altpoolt veidi inspiratsiooni. Või järgmiseks aastaks. Mina igatahes juba ootan.
