My mom went to Italy a few years ago and as a souvenir brought me back a little book of Ferragamo shoes. It had the craziest, most iconic designs in it and it also had the Vara shoe, made famous by the one and only Audrey Hepburn. So today, while keeping up with the unread posts in my blogroll, I came across an opportunity - on the Salvatore Ferragamo website here you can design your own iconic Vara (or the heel-less Varina) shoe.
So I played shoe designer for a good half an hour and came up with this design. I've always admired shoes that have a nude-black combo going on and it looks perfect on the Vara. If only the price wasn't three times my rent...
What would your dream Vara look like?
Paar aastat tagasi käis mu ema Itaalias ja tõi mulle suveniiriks ühe väikese raamatu Ferragamo kingadest. Seal olid kõige hulljulgemad ja kõige klassikalisemad kingadisainid ja nende kõrval ka see lihtne Vara mudel, mille kandis kuulsaks Audrey Hepburn. Ja täna, kui ma üritasin oma lemmikblogide lugemata postitustega sammu pidada, avastasin sellise võimaluse - Salvatore Ferragamo kodulehel siin saad endale täitsa oma Vara kingad (või ilma kontsata Varina variandi) disainida.
Niisiis mängisingi hea pool tundi kingadisainerit ja lõpptulemus on selline. Mulle on alati meeldinud beeži-mustakirjud kingad ja Varale sobis see kombinatsioon väga hästi. Kui ainult see hind ei oleks sama suur kui minu korteri kolme kuu üür...
