I styled a Ferragamo shoe...

January 20, 2015

My mom went to Italy a few years ago and as a souvenir brought me back a little book of Ferragamo shoes. It had the craziest, most iconic designs in it and it also had the Vara shoe, made famous by the one and only Audrey Hepburn. So today, while keeping up with the unread posts in my blogroll, I came across an opportunity - on the Salvatore Ferragamo website here you can design your own iconic Vara (or the heel-less Varina) shoe.
So I played shoe designer for a good half an hour and came up with this design. I've always admired shoes that have a nude-black combo going on and it looks perfect on the Vara. If only the price wasn't three times my rent...
What would your dream Vara look like?

Reborn

January 05, 2015

If you look around a bit, then the title is obvious. In true "New year, new me" style, my blog has got a makeover and I'm sitting here, looking at it and giggling with excitement. It's so clean and chic and so very much more me than the previous pink thing.
How it happened that there's a new Bowtie Diary overnight? Well, my graphic-design-savvy boyfriend and I had planned it for some time and yesterday, in the spur of the moment we got to it. Messing about with CSS until 3am and choosing the right fonts for an hour was so worth it. And I've always loved the navy colour, so now it's here to stay. Even though I don't want to promise anything, because promises are hard to keep and so on, I'll secretly let you know that in my scrapbook I made a resolution to post more and more versatile things, because I really and truly like this blogging hobby of mine.
So have a look around, hover over the icons (they turn blue!) and let me know what you think.

Minu väike koostööprojekt MÄRSSiga on jõudnud sinnamaale, kus üks teist saab ühe imeilusa lillelise-ja-musta seljakoti omanikuks. Meet my MÄRSS

August 27, 2014

Remember this gorgeous backpack from my last post? Well, this is my MÄRSS - a stunning one-of-a-kind creation made of vegan leather. I'd always thought that I'm not a backpack kind of girl, but after laying eyes on the unique MÄRSS bags and then getting to try one, I was sold! For about three weeks now, this bag has travelled with me to corners of Estonia and I'm so not tired of it yet.
It fits everything I need for a long weekend and that includes a lot. I'm talking about three outfits, camera, computer, probably a book, bottle of water, napkins, food and everything else I think utterly necessary. Okay, the bag gets heavy, but doesn't lose its shape and crawl all the way up my back. The straps are not adjustable, but that doesn't bother me one bit, because they're strong and supportive. If there's one thing I'm missing, it's a few little compartments on the inside for little things. Other than that, I think I've found my favorite bag for this autumn!
If you want to check out their amazing selection go head to MÄRSS's Facebook page [here] or their Etsy shop [here]. But be careful, the bags may steal your heart! Oh, and there are totes too!

Ainus, millest ma MÄRSS'i puhul puudust tunnen on mingid väikesed taskukesed koti sees.

My first styling job!

July 03, 2014

Maybe you remember me talking about my first styling work I did for Estonian design store Namarie. Well, I have the pictures now and I love how they turned out! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you've already seen some of them, but I decided to share some of my favourites.
I loved the whole experience from start to beginning and I can definitely see myself doing styling work in the future. Of course, our them was amazing too and we all seemed to clique. And had lots of fun, maybe too much even for normal pictures.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little project of mine.

My school's annual fashion show

January 27, 2013

Friday was a big day at my school, because it was the day for our annual fashion show! I was lucky enough to take part as a model for my friend's amazing collection. We walked to the beats of the drums, the spotlight shining on each and every one of us, wearing the awesome neon-white-and-silver printed skirts and dresses. Instead of shoes we had feet that looked like horse hooves and on our heads rested fabulous braids. Without further ado, enjoy the "backstage" and the stunning collection made by Greete Okas.

Reedel on minu koolis tavalisest erilisem päev, kuna õhtul toimus meie iga-aastane moeshow.

Sunday in New York

November 29, 2011

For the last two days I've stayed at home, because of a flu. So naturally, the best thing to do is watch movies. I came across "Sunday in New York" last night on TCM, and since it is a romantic comedy from 1963 I had to watch it. The movie was lovely, as any other romantic comedy, but what I loved most about it-the apartment where half of the movie was set.

Things I loved about the apartment:
1) It's in New York
2) It was levelled, the living room was on the main level, the bedroom was upstairs and the bar was on a lower level.
3) Since it was levelled, it had a staircase. Any apartment that has stairs is perfection in my eyes.
4) Wonderful red brick walls
5) A fireplace
6) Huge windows

To prove it to you, I found a few pictures from a blog called Silents and Talkies, which is all about old movies, woohoo !

And if you're still not convinced, take a look at this little part of the movie.
