Sleep Your Skin Better

It's no secret that a good dose of beauty sleep is absolutely necessary for healthy skin, as is drinking water and a proper cleansing routine. Although I'm pretty diligent with all three of those, I still have a few spots of pigmentation, dry patches and oh dear, at 21-years-old I have a few wrinkles on my forehead! None of them are problems that need instant attention, but I decided to turn to some beauty product to maybe try and fix the situation and I settled on The Body Shop's Drops of Youth sleeping mask (27.50€) that had actually caught my eye a few months ago. So thanks, The Body Shop, for giving me the opportunity to test this!

Those of you, who are already familiar with the product, know, that the most interesting part is the texture. There's a reason why each pot comes with a little plastic spatula, you know, because when you try to get some of that goodness from the pot with your fingers, you won't get any (or will get loads!). It kind of bounces back if you touch it, the little finger-print quickly disappears and the mask looks completely new. (Which is why from the pictures it might seem that I haven't used it at all, when in reality I've taken a bit almost every night for three weeks.)

Mitte, et ükski neist oleks mingi täiesti talumatu probleem, aga mõtlesin, et proovin oma näonaha olukorda lõpuks mõne ilutootega parandada ja valisin katsetamiseks juba ammu silma jäänud The Body Shopi Drops of Youth (27.50€) öömaski. Nii et suur aitäh The Body Shopile, et sain seda testida!

Kõik, kes on sellega mõnes blogis või kasvõi poes kokku puutunud, teavad, et selle toote kõige huvitavam osa on kreem-maski tekstuur. Ega ilma asjata pole iga kreemiga väike spaatlike kaasas, sest kui sõrm kreemipotsikusse pista, ei jää sõrme külge mitte midagi! See mask justkui põrkab tagasi, sõrmega vajutatud jälg vajub kiiresti kinni ja iga kord purki avades näeb see välja nagu uus. (Sellepärast võib ka piltidelt jääda mulje, et ma pole tilkagi kreemi kasutanud, kuigi olen sealt natukene võtnud enam-vähem igal õhtul kolme nädala jooksul.)

Now to the good qualities of this funky mask! It should be used as a night cream and applied in very small portions, kind of like applying your usual day cream - which is why it seems to me that the mask will last for at least half a year. I like to sleep on my side and when I started using it, it seemed to me that most of it stuck on my pillow and not on my face, but then I decided to apply even less of it and this way it sinks in properly. And I try to sleep on my back too. It's not actually necessary to wash it off in the mornings, but I like splashing my face with cold water every morning (otherwise I just wouldn't wake up) and I'm afraid I might wash a bit of the goodness off too. 

The best bits in the mask are edelweiss cells, which help the skin to reproduce itself, and hyaluronic acid, which takes care of the moisture part. In conclusion, I've noticed that after those three weeks of testing, my skin really is smoother. Those little wrinkles are still there, but maybe I just talk in an extra expressive way, however I can feel that my skin is so much softer and the pigmentation a lot more even. I was also advised to use this mask after a night of partying (because it's actually meant for women a bit older than I am) and during the three weeks I went to a music festival and quite a few nights out, so when usually my skin is looking quite drab and sad after a long night, then I've said good-bye to this now!

Aga kreemi kasutamise ja omaduste juurde! Seda peaks kasutama igal õhtul justkui öökreemina ja kandma näole hästi väikese koguse, umbes nagu paneks näole päevakreemi - seetõttu usun, et kreemi jätkub vähemalt pooleks aastaks. Kuna mulle meeldib külili magada, siis alguses tundus, et kogu kallis kreem jääb hoopis padja külge, aga siis hakkasin seda veel vähem näole panema ja nii jõuab mask korralikult imenduda. Ja eks ma üritan veidi ikka selili ka magada. Põhimõtteliselt ei peaks seda hommikul maha pesema, aga kuna mulle meeldib hommikuti külma vett näole visata, siis natuke vist loputan seda head maski maha ka. 

Maski kõige kasulikumad osad on eedelveissi ehk Alpi jänesekäpa tüvirakud, mis aitavad öösel naharakke uuendada ja hüaluroonhape, mis töötab niisutamise kallal. Kokkuvõttes võin öelda, et nende kolme katsetamisnädala jooksul olen tõesti aru saanud, et nahk on nii palju siledam. Kortsukesed on alles, aga need võivad olla ka selle pärast, et ma krimpsutan liiga palju või naerdes kasutan korralikult ka laubalihaseid, aga nahk on tuntavalt rohkem niisutatud, tunnen, et suvepäike ei tee liiga ja nahatoon on ka ühtlasem. Lisaks soovitati mul kasutada seda kreemi eriti just pärast pidusid (sest see on tegelikult mõeldud veidi vanematele) ja selle testimisperioodi sisse jäi näiteks Positivus ja veel mõni pidusem õhtu sõpradega ning kui tavaliselt on mu näonahk pärast pikemat ööd pisut närb ja õnnetu, siis enam seda probleemi pole olnud.
