My First Pair Of Ripped Jeans

October 14, 2015

I've never bought myself a pair of ripped jeans, until now. I used to be one of those (among plenty of others from my parents' generation) who didn't see the point in buying something that's broken already and paying full price for it. Conservative? Hell yes! Fashion forward? Ermm.. No? So what made me change my mind? The answer is simple and kind of rhymes with everyone's favourite model. Zara. More specifically their sale section about a month ago.
When I came to The Netherlands, then on my first days I saw so many women happily biking around in a standard outfit of oversized jeans, ankle boots and something cosy on top. And I thought that I want a pair of those jeans, even though I've never considered myself one to actually pull off boyfriend jeans that well. So one day, on a little shopping spree in town with my Dutch-Spanish friend Abby, we popped to Zara and I found this pair of jeans in my size. Tried them on and kind of liked them. The price tag said 15 euros, but I still deliberated, twirling in front of the changing room mirror for a good five minutes, because for something that I might not wear that much, it still seemed like a waste of money (#studentbudget). I finally decided to buy them and when I went to the cashier, the till showed 6 euros. All guilt swept away, I bought my first pair of ripped jeans and I've been wearing them more than my trusty black skinnies ever since!

Konservatiivne? Ja kuidas veel! Moeteadlik? No mitte päris.

  3. Aww, I love your outfit - especially the top and bag! I'm still on the fence about ripped jeans but they're amazing on you and I like the relaxed boyfriend jeans style fit - so easy to wear on days you've no mood for tight-fitting jeans :)
