My Skin's Little Helper

A curious little fella has found its way to my bathroom cabinet, the skincare device of the future, I'd like to think. Considering that my usual evening routine was a rushed cleanse using my hands and then lazily going over with a micellar water before rushing straight to bed, then the Lanaform Lucea is a huge leap towards cleaner skin. Basically it's a vibrating silicone brush to deep-cleanse your skin without irritating it, but let's take it once step at a time as I try to dip my toes into beauty-blogger land.

Minu vannitoariiulile on maandunud üks õige omamoodi tegelane, mulle meeldiks isegi mõelda, et tuleviku nahahoolduse täht. Arvestades, et minu tavaline õhtune meigieemaldus koosnes kiiruga laialihõõrutud koorivast geelit ja siis laisast mitsellaarvee tõmbest, on see Lanaform Lucea seade tõeline hüpe parema ja puhtama naha suunas. Põhimõtteliselt on see pisike vibreeriv silikoonhari, mis puhastab nahka sügavuti, aga ei tohiks seda kuidagi ärritada. Võtame siitkohalt nüüd sammukeste haaval selle seadmekese lahti, sest ma alles üritan oma varbakesi ilublogimise merre pista. 

The vibrating function first proved one too many laughs, but once I got on to testing the brush in the bathroom and stopped giggling over how intensive the vibrations can get (there's 14 different speeds you can choose from!), I really got the hype. Different size bristles for different types of skin vibrate to get all the make-up, big city grime and summer sweat sparkle off your face and in between the brushes. It's getting top points for hygiene too - once you're done with your cleanse, all you need to do is rinse the cleanser (and the invisible bits of dirt) off the brush and leave it to dry. Naturally it's waterproof, so even an intense wash shouldn't do anything to it.

See vibreerimisfunktsioon tegi alguses küll palju nalja, aga kui ma jõudsin päriselt selle harjakese testimiseni ja kaugemale põrisemise intensiivusest (saab valida lausa 14 erineva kiiruse vahel!), hakkasin aimama, miks see nii revolutsiooniline on. Erineva suurusega silikoonharjad on mõeldud erinevatele nahatüüpidele ja see vibreerimine peakski aitama kogu meigi, linnamustuse ja suvise higi sädeluse sujuvalt näonahalt harjakeste vahele lükata. Puhtuse eest saab see harjake ka täispunktid - kui enda pesemine läbi, saab harja lihtsalt vee all puhtaks loputada ja kogu pesugeeli (koos nähtamatute mustuseosakestega) maha pesta. Loomulikult on see ka veekindel, nii et isegi väheke intensiivsem loputus ei tohiks Luceale midagi teha. 

 

My favourite part is the complimentary massage that comes with cleansing my skin every evening. (Which is also my boyfriend's fave bit. I've sometimes found him lying in bed, just buzzing the device on dry skin.) Although you're supposed to sweep the brush across your face, spending around 15 seconds in every zone, I tend to massage more on my temples, doing little circles and properly relaxing at the end of any day. Another favourite part is the root of my nose, which seems to enjoy the mini-vibrations a lot. 

Reading a few reviews online, I realised that the main advantage of this brush, compared to the much-hyped Clarisonic for example, is that you never need to change brushes or spend money on any extra bits you might need. Not even batteries, because in true 21st century style, the brush is charged via USB. The Lanaform Lucea (36€) also seems to be a great dupe for a really similar Foreo Luna (164€) brush, but for only a fraction of the price!

Minu lemmikosa on see mõnus massaaž, mis näopesuga igal õhtul kaasas käib. (Ja see meeldib Mirkole ka. Mõnikord ta lihtsalt pikutab voodis ja põristab Luceaga mööda kuiva nahka.) Kuigi harja peaks mööda nägu edasi-tagasi liigutama ja igas suuremas piirkonnas umbes 15 sekundit veetma, siis mulle meeldib väheke pikemaks ajaks meelekohtade juures ringitama jääda, et päevategemistest mõnusalt lõõgastuda. Teine mõnus koht on ninajuur, sinnagi sobivad need minivibratsioonid hästi. 

Veebist selle masinakese arvustusi lugedes sain aru, et suurim pluss on see, et ühtegi harjakest või otsakest ei pea välja vahetama, nagu näiteks populaarse Clarisonicu harja puhul. Isegi mitte patareisid, sest Lucea harja saab 21. sajandile kohaselt laadida läbi USB juhtme. Võib-olla olete kuulnud Foreo Luna (164€) harjast? (Näiteks Anna Elisbabeth kirjutas sellest siin.) Lanaform Lucea (36€) tundub olevat täpselt sama mõnus toode, aga kordades väiksema hinna eest! 

I also want to dedicate some room in this post for a lovely new, and may I add, natural, cleanser, which I bought just for trying it out with the brush. The foamy structure is ideal for the buzzing buddy (I tried it with my previous scrubbing cleanser and that was a bit too much altogether). I also really love the smell of the Natura Siberica foam, it's slightly acidic and kind of gives off a medical vibe, but together with the futuristic look of the brush it seems to work even better, giving a super clean and squeaky feel to my skin. The fact that each of their product (free of parabens, SLS and any other bad-for-your-skin thingy) benefits tribes in Siberia is a huge bonus. 

As for results, then after a two-minute cleanse, the brush-and-cleanser combo passed the good old micellar water and cotton pad test. If I just quickly go over my face, then there's still some traces of foundation left, but for that I'd blame my lazy (and tired) self. It seems to me that my face is in fact clearer, blackhead free-er and a tad brighter after starting to use the brush and that's only ever a good thing.

Tahaksin natuke postituseruumi eraldada ka uuele ja täitsa looduslikule Natura Siberica näopuhastusvahule, mille ostsingi sellepärast, et harjaga koos testida. Proovisin harja ka oma kooriva kreemiga ja seda sai kokku natuke liiga palju. Looduslik vaht aga saab nüüd igal õhtul kasutust. Eriti meeldib mulle selle vahu natuke hapukas lõhn, mis millegipärast tundub isegi pisut meditsiiniline, aga harja futu-välimusega koos tundubki see just eriti hästi töötavat. Tõsiasi, et iga Natura Siberica (parabeenide, SLSi ja kõige muu halva vaba) toodet ostes toetad mõnd Siberi hõimu, on juba omaette väga suur boonus! 

Tulemustest nii palju, et pärast korralikku kaheminutulist puhastust läbib harja ja vahu komplekt hästi vana hea vati ja mitsellaarvee testi. Kui ma aga natuke laisem ja väsinum olen ning ainult kergelt üle kogu näo käin, jääb ikka natuke meigijääke naha peale. Üleüldiselt tundub mu nahk küll olevat puhtam, punnikestest vabam ja natuke säravam ja selle üle ei saa ju kunagi kurta!
