Blogger spotlight : Simple et chic

March 22, 2011

Today I'd love to introduce you the lovely Valerie from Simple et chic. She's a young blogger from Germany. She has the cutest blog and great personal style. I love to read her blog. I hope you'll enjoy this little interview I did with her and you'll like her as much as I do :)
And as a coincidence, it's her birthday today!  Consider this as a gift from me :)

 1. Where do you live?  I live in a smalll town in Germany near Frankfurt.

2. Do you think that the place where you live has affected your style/clothing?How?Well, the town where I live is so small and honestly not very stylish. I'm glad that big citys like Frankfurt and Heidelberg aren't far away and good to reach by train. But I think the place where I live has definitely influences on what I wear because I would get dressed differently in bigger cities like Paris, New York, Milano, Berlin or London and of course in a club or something I would dress more chic as in my hometown.
The people here are dressed average and maybe they are not brave enough to try out new trends.I find it very sad!

3.What is your favourite piece of clothing? This is a really hard question, because in my closet I love every single piece from there, so it's hard to me to pic only one but I can tell you that I love my burgundy Asos bag and a new transparent nude blouse I bought at H&M.

4.What is your favourite place to shop at ?My favourite places to shop are vintagemarkets, Zara, Primark, Topshop, Blanco and Onlineshops : Asos and Spanish Moss

5. Where do you get inspiration from?I feel inspired by so many things like photos or magazines, books, quotes, blogs, people on the street or places I like. But the most inspiring persons to me are Audrey Hepburn, Carrie Bradshaw, Alexa Chung and Coco Chanel.

6. What do you do as a job? What are you hobbies?I'm still in school but I hopefully will pass my exams next year , so I can study journalism and move to Berlin to come closer my dream about working for a significant fashionmagazine one day.In my free time I work as a waitress in a restaurant. I love to take photos with friends, to read inspiring books or just being creative and work on my scrapbook. I love sunny days in the city with my girls, drinking some coffee and talk about everything and anything. I also love long walks with my dog Nala.

7. How did you find your way to blogging? The idea to start a blog, was one of those spontaneous ideas that come suddenly to your mind. I have a big scrapbook where I collect things which inspire me and it's mostly about fashion so I thought one day that I could share my passion to fashion with other people all over the world and it was one of the best decisions ever .

8. What makes a succesful fashion blog?Personality ! I think this is the most important thing.

9. What blogs do you like? What are your favourite blogs?I have more than 450 blogs in my Bloglovin so its very difficult to pic one out but I love the chicmuse, stylescrapbook ,afterdrk, les mads, birds of a feather flock together, studded hearts ... well the list is long!

10. What is the most important part of an outfit?accessories! I think they complete the perfect outfit.

11. How/where/when do you write your usual blog post ?That changes everyday . Sometimes in the night when I do research for my blog and sometimes in cafe's , on my balcony,in my bed or on my desk.

12. What has been the best experience as a blogger? The best experience was definitely the Fashion week in Berlin this January. It was awesome to see all the fashionshows and meet so many new interesting people.

spring brunch

March 20, 2011

Happy spring break everyone ! Oh, I can't believe that it has finally arrived! And that it actually seems to be spring outside.. or something like that.
I celebrated the start of spring break with Getter and Kaisa. They came to my place, we watched "Amelie" and made fondue. Yesterday morning we went to the flea market with Getter( I didn't get anything though), where we met Anna and as a spur of the moment decided to go to Boheem. It is one of the cutest cafes in Tallinn, the prices are OK and the food is oh-so-delicious ! We had brunch( or late breakfast, as Getter) and enjoyed the catching up :)
I'm dedicating today to doing absolutely nothing profitable. Just.. relaxing :)

Giveaway winner!

March 13, 2011

The winner of the giveaway is Hannaliis ! Congratulations :)

March 11, 2011

I went shopping yesterday with Roosi and found this wonderful sweater from Pull and Bear. I promise you a lot of outfit posts on spring. I'm already dreaming of my maxi-skirt with this and pictures in a park.
In other news I went to see the Tourist with Getter yesterday. She liked it a lot more than I did, it was kind of boring, compared to all the great films I've seen lately.
And a few days left to enter the giveaway !

Spring, please come quicker!

espero a la primavera

March 08, 2011

I hope you all had a marvellous Women's Day ! It is also Shrove Tuesday here and I've eaten clearly too much Shrove Buns( or Lovely buns, as they are called in Sweden. They are pretty much just plain buns with whipped cream and jam. )
Sunday I went to see Black Swan with Getter. It was scary. And psychotic. And scary. I loved the dance scene and the final costumes were just amazing though :)
Now I'm just going to watch TV, since the next Gossip Girl episode doesn't air until the middle of April. Why do they keep doing this to us ?! Probably eat one more bun and not study for my tests tomorrow, because as far as I'm concerned, it should be spring and spring break already and school is just a bore.
Until then, let's just fantasize about floral dresses and sun, ok ? :)

And you still have until the end of the week to enter the giveaway !

Color coordinated shopping

March 05, 2011

Today I went to the flea market with Getter, Liisa and Anna. I hadn't been for such a long time, but luckily I'm quite used to the euros already and managed to avoid buying things for their seemingly low price.
The weather was amazing, I'm starting to think that spring is already here! It was warm and sunny, and even the massive piles of snow showed signs of melting.
So, what I got: a trench coat for only 2€( thank you kind lady, you made my day!), a knitted top/jumper, wooden ring, vintage earrings( that I might turn into rings, don't know yet), a vintage pendant( that might also become a ring.. ) , a bow-tie hair comb and a studded belt. A very productive flea-market in my opinion, I managed to spend under 10 € and get so much stuff.

p.s. Don't forget to enter the giveaway here! You have only one week left.

March 03, 2011

I'd really like to renew my spring/summer wardrobe, and I have even managed to save some money for that. Sadly, I don't really have the time to go shopping. And the other thing is that most of the clothes are so overpriced. So I've been thinking about online-shopping.It has always seemed like a scary thought, kind of what-if-i-pay-for-the-thing-and-then-all-my-money-gets-lost-or-the-post loses-what-i-bought. Now , when I discovered Fashiolista, it has become real. I check all the items, that I like, where they're sold and how much they cost. There have been some things that I've really wanted to buy. And then I find out that a) they don't ship to Estonia, b)the shipping to Estonia costs a fortune. I discovered a cool Spanish online shop from a blog, found a really great spring skirt, it didn't cost much and the tag said that shipping costs 7€, which is quite reasonable.  Then I made an account for myself , registered my address in Estonia, and then the shipping was 33€. Why the hell? The skirt cost 16€, and shipping costs double as much ?! Do shipping companies really think that sending to Estonia means more security risks and more costs on delivering? We are a member of the EU, geographically  in Europe, and not that far from Spain(or United Kingdom for that matter). Is it because we border Russia and used to be a part of the Soviet Union? Well, that was 20 years ago, I think that it's time to get over that and see that our country is also developed, active and safe.
