2011 Recap

December 30, 2011

Frank Sinatra- It was a very good year

I have to say that this year has been wonderful, both for the blog and myself. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart, for reading my blog, following and commenting. I love reading all of your comments and they encourage me to work on my blog even more. I really hope that 2012 is going to be even more fantastic than this year.

I decided to put together a little recap of my ultimate favourites of 2011. They're in no specific order, if you were wondering.

Which were your favourites?

Childhood games and  Hurts concert

Walk in the park and monochrome

Wasteland and Morning sun

Eesti Pops festival and first snow

Post-Christmas twilight

December 28, 2011

No, the heading of this post is not referring to a certain movie, that I haven't seen. It's about the time of day these pictures were taken. Glad we got that one cleared.

My Christmas was magical and peaceful, spent with family and friends, just as it is supposed to be. I got many wonderful gifts and one of them was a family trip to Stockholm ! That's also the reason why I've been absent these last days. It was just so refreshing to travel somewhere, besides Stockholm is an extremely beautiful city filled with the coolest people. And we were there just in time for the sales, woohoo !

Today, just a few hours after getting off the plane, I got together with Getter and Kaisa for a little after-Christmas skating and eating and gifts ! These girls give the coolest presents ever. I got a scrapbook from Kaisa, something I've wanted for quite some time now, but she even sketched on the first page. As an amazing artist/doodler, she drew a fantastic picture of HURTS ! Getter made be Louboutin socks , black socks with a red sole and she also gave me a Franz Ferdinand CD, which is playing on the background now and is absolutely amazing !

By the way, the cape on the pictures is also a Christmas present. My aunt bought it for me, when we went shopping in spring and it has been waiting for me ever since.

Coldplay- Christmas Lights

Can you believe it, it's only one day until Christmas !! I hope all your presents are wrapped and trees decorated . My family brought the Christmas tree in today and now our house is properly decorated and ready for tomorrow. ( I just had to take random pictures around the house and post them here, excuse me for that )

I wish you all a beautiful Christmas time !

Different in a good way

December 17, 2011

Another week has passed without a proper blog post, my sincere apologies for that. We took these pictures after school on Friday and it was already getting dark ( at 3 in the afternoon !) . Because we live close to the polar night, under grey clouds and in a land with no snow. That's also why the pictures look kind of .. vintage and different, in a cool way.  Let's hope that it won't be a black Christmas !

About the outfit.. The skirt is actually a dress, that I've also worn here and here, but as a top. I'm a bit hesitant about tight tube dresses, so this time I decided to use it as a skirt instead. My favourite black-and-white pieces to go with it plus my mother's boots and voila!

Those who follow me on twitter, might know that I found "How To Steal a Million " and of course I immediately had to buy it. Yesterday I decided to watch it and I must say that it was wonderful. All the clothes were really beautiful and Audrey was fantastic and Peter O'Toole was also very handsome and altogether it was a great movie. "Tiffany's" is my favourite, but this one is not far behind.

Tonight, we're having a girl's night at my house, watching old Disney cartoons and doing all kinds of Christmas stuff. On the menu are gingerbread, glögg, cocoa and tangerines.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone !

Sponsor spotlight: AX Paris

December 12, 2011

I'm very happy to introduce you to my newest sponsor. A few weeks ago I was contacted by a UK web shop called AX Paris, asking me whether I'd like to collaborate with them. I got to pick an item from their shop and I must tell you that it was extremely difficult.
They have an absolute overload on pretty and feminine dresses both for day and night. I also spotted some amazingly cute and comfy sweaters and you know how I love sweaters. In the outerwear section I found the most amazing winter cape and some other equally as cool coats. And the selection of trousers was also great, it was really difficult not to go for a pair of lace pallazzo pants.
This time I decided to be rational, so I can tell you that I didn't choose anything sequined, summery or unpractical. But I can't wait to show you what I picked out from their shop once it arrives !

Go and check out their shop HERE ! I hope you'll love it as much as I do :)

Snow White

December 09, 2011

Greetings from snowy Tallinn ! It has been snowing for the past few days and we're expecting a storm this night/tomorrow, so I plan to enjoy my weekend from the warmth of my home and dedicate to studying.
We took these pictures really quickly today, because it was the casual coat off-pictures-coat on, only colder. So excuse the partial blurriness.

The boots that I'm wearing are borrowed from my mom. I'm really happy that we wear the same size shoes and clothes, because we exchange a lot of them. I think you've probably noticed how many things are borrowed from my mom or that I've got from my mom and this look is no exception. Both the boots and hat are actually hers.
The locket on my necklace is also kind of a family heirloom. It used to belong to my grandmother and now I'm the proud owner of it. Inside are pictures of my grandmother's parents.

Enjoy your (snowy) weekends, everyone !

p.s. I'm the featured member of StyledOn this week ! Check it out here ! It is such a sweet feature and I'm really really happy !

I am obviously the master of that hat trick.

Christmas wishlist

December 07, 2011

My humble Christmas wishes for this year:

1. a nice round scarf
2. polka-dot tights
3. a classic Casio watch, this particular one is from asos.com
4. comfy and cute socks
5. a charm bracelet
6. a perfume, I had about 4 options that Santa could choose from, the YSL Parisienne was one of them
7. Jamie Oliver's recipe book, this "Meals in minutes" would definitely be used a lot
8. Hurts Happiness Deluxe CD
(and Sinatra's CD also, preferably with Christmas songs)

Rediscoveries

December 05, 2011

Told you I'd be indoors from now on - hence the no shoes look. I still haven't managed to lose the flu and get back my voice..
It seems that whenever I get a new piece of clothing I have to wear it a dozen times before I can let go and consider putting on other clothes. The same thing is with this sweater. This time I decided to pair it with a cute floral skirt , which I think hasn't been on the blog yet. I actually made it in the beginning of last summer ( in 2009 ) . And the necklace is a DIY beauty from last winter, also rediscovered.
I wore this outfit on the weekend. We just had a nice cozy night in at Getter's. Our original plan was to study.. yeah, right. Eventually we made pizza, fondue and watched "Catch me if you can". The movie was brilliant. I loved that it was based on a true story, young Leonardo was oh-so-handsome and so incredibly clever and intelligent.

Also, meet Getter's cat Ronja. I think she likes me, because she came and sat next to me and started purring.  She looked like the sweetest furball ever. And then she bit be. I think she totally lives up to her name.

All I want for Christmas...

December 03, 2011

Since it's December already, I gave myself the permission to listen to my Christmas song for this year. Last year it was Sinatra, this year.. Hurts. Who else, right? And the video is just lovely, mainly because they smile. But the plot is also sweet and the setting is so cute.

Enjoy this video, while I make myself another cup of tea, because I haven't got my proper voice back yet and then get ready for a weekend at Getter's. Woohoo !

Morning glory

December 01, 2011

Please excuse my morning eyes and messy hair. The pictures were taken last Sunday morning and it was lightly raining also.
Anyway, this is the perfect comfy outfit, I think. It has my favourite pieces - the pants and the boots- and it also features some amazing new finds- the shirt and sweater. And to make it a bit more personalized- the bracelets. One made by me in summer and the other one I got from a street market and I don't think that's it's properly been on the blog yet. I love it because of its simplicity, but did you notice that it has actually skulls on it? The rebellious side of me ..

Today's the first of December already !! I hope everybody has a magical holiday season :)
