Denim and lace DIY

July 17, 2013

I spent a few relaxing days at my aunt's in the countryside and finally had time to take on a little DIY project that had been on my mind for quite some time. Remember the newly thrifted denim jacket from this post? Somehow it seemed too bland to me and I thought that a little lace would give it that nice Marant-inspired cowboy kick. My aunt so graciously let me use her lace leftovers (from her wedding dress, by the way!) and I spent a lovely day in the sun, sewing like there's no tomorrow. As I was already at it, my denim shorts got a bit of a makeover too.
I'm going to Positivus festival on Friday, so there will be a bit of a break in my posts, while I spend time listening to the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell and The XX and dancing my ass off! Of course, these two summer essentials are coming with me to Positivus!

Kuna ma juba olin asjaga tegelemas, said ka mu teksapüksid väikese muutuse.
Reedel lähen Positivus festivalile, seega tuleb postitustesse väike paus, samal ajal, kui ma veedan aega kuulates selliseid toredaid muusikuid nagu Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell ja The XX ja tantsides elu eest! Loomulikult tulevad need kaks suvist riideeset minuga kaasa!

This week’s link round up is full of shopping and outfit inspiration – it seems like the community is in a very fashionable mood of late (not that you aren’t always!). Some of you are looking forward to fall, some are building your wardrobe of essentials and some are exploring shopping on a budget when you’re curvy. We also had some great submissions from some menswear bloggers in our community – it’s an all-around win!

Links à la Mode

July 02, 2012

One of the things that I like most about the blogosphere is the fashion communities. Everyone knows about Lookbook and Chictopia, but I recently joined a site called IFB, which is short for Independent Fashion Bloggers. It's so much more than posting your looks, it basically works as a 101 handbook to all the bloggers. Every week, they put together a round-up of the best posts and my post about spicing up my skirt was featured!!
Below is the full round-up, so check out these great blogs!

Spice Girls

Edited by: Jess of Fresh Jess

This week, the Spice Girls got together to announce their support for the upcoming musical Viva Forever, which is inspired by their Girl Power movement. The fearless, limitless supergroup has come so far since they burst onto the scene 16 years ago. They’ve inspired millions of girls around the world to go after their dreams, and paved the way for bloggers like you and I to share our individual styles and passions with the world. My picks this week reflect how IFBers are spicing up their life this summer. From Beetlejuice and the streets of Tokyo to the bright colors and light fabrics of the season, the variety of style expression has never looked so good. Even Victoria Beckham would be proud!
