Forest fairy

August 31, 2014

Last Sunday. A beautiful late summer's day on the riverbank of Pärnu with the talented Alina Birjuk (check her stuff here) and her camera. I'll shut up and let the pictures do the talking this time.

Why do I love the theatre

March 31, 2014

My mom was visiting for the weekend and in addition to thrift shopping, eating lunch and dessert at different cafes and just plain walking around (not in those heels, though), we also went to the theatre. I haven't properly gone to see a play in ages and it really came to me how much I like the activity itself, regardless of the play. Allow me to make a list and explain:
Finally having a reason for dressing up. I wore the outfit below and oh-how-great it was to put on that red lace beauty and wear heels and a bowtie and all that jazz.
Perfume. The smell of my very first perfume reminds me of going to the theatre and when sitting down to watch the play, I love the cloud of tens of fragrances around me.
Architecture. Theatre buildings usually tend to be works of art and so are the halls, so before the play starts, I'm usually sitting with my head tilted as far back as I can, admiring the ceilings and chandeliers.
Peoplewatching during intermission. It's one of my favourite things to do and the intermission was practicaly invented for that.
Going home in a taxi. Yes, I pretend that it's the only acceptable form of public transport.

Vaheajal inimeste vaatamine. See on üleüldse üks mu lemmiktegevusi ja vaatuste vaheajad on selleks lausa loodud.
Taksoga koju sõitmine. Jah, ma teesklen, et see on minu jaoks ainus mõeldav ühistranspordiliik.

Hurts- Better Than Love

When you go to your favourite band's concert, it really can't be anything but perfect. Hurts blew me away, once again and I feel that there aren't enough words to describe the millions of emotions. I had the perfect red lace dress from Choies to stand there in the crowd, hold hands with my best friend, watch in awe and share a few looks in silence. Of course, I had a smile on my face the whole night, it really was pure happiness.

I wear my lace on my sleeve

October 09, 2013

You know how I love basics, but to me, every basic is even better, when it has a little twist. And those intricate lace sleeves on this seemingly plain Oasap sweatshirt are just that twist. Finally, a piece of clothing that I won't have to DIY to pimp it a bit.
I went to visit my best friend in Viljandi and we spent the prettiest autumn day exploring the castle ruins and the cafes and I'm already looking forward to good times spent with this lovely little number (and my next visit to Viljandi).

Mind still in summer, body already in autumn

August 18, 2013

I really don't like the last weeks of Autumn. It's a constant whirlwind between summer and autumn. My mind keeps telling me to enjoy the last bits of summer left, but the weather outside keeps reminding me of the dreadful darker season quickly approaching. Even more, I was lucky enough to be invited to Baltika's fall/winter fashion show (recap coming soon!) and with clothes so gorgeous being presented on the runway, who doesn't want to wear them and forget about bare feet and sandals as soon as possible? It so often happens that the anticipation for the next season slightly ruins the beauty of the current one.
The same thing is with my outfit. I tried to keep it summery with feminine florals and lace, à la Dolce and Gabbana in Sicily, but in order to actually exist in Estonia, I had to throw on my parka, because it was slightly raining and the temperature was way below my comfort zone. See my dilemma? Although maybe that's what they like to call transitioning from summer to autumn...

Summer in the city

August 03, 2013

I love those summer days in the city, when after a supernlazy morning I try to do as much as humanly possible. On this particular day, after sleeping like a fairytale character and enjoying one of my famous breakfasts, Getter an I went to town to browse aimlessly in bookstores and then went for lunch at a super cute cafe at the Old Town to meet Kaisa and fill her in on the latest events. (Did I hear someone say Positivus?) After that, hit the cinema with my little sis and then a cycling workout with dad. If that isn't productive, I don't know what is.
For the outfit, I chose all of my favourite new buys for a very summer-appropriate all white outfit and mixed them with old favourites. I picked up that lace skirt at Seppälä, after not having visited the store for years and then setting my eyes on this skirt, it was a match made in heaven. I deliberated buying it for a few hours and then decided that a lace pencil skirt is "such a staple and I will wear it for years to come". The same was with the shirt and the beautiful, slightly reminiscent of the Marant Caroll sandals, which actually are the perfect summer heels by Vagabond.

Denim and lace DIY

July 17, 2013

I spent a few relaxing days at my aunt's in the countryside and finally had time to take on a little DIY project that had been on my mind for quite some time. Remember the newly thrifted denim jacket from this post? Somehow it seemed too bland to me and I thought that a little lace would give it that nice Marant-inspired cowboy kick. My aunt so graciously let me use her lace leftovers (from her wedding dress, by the way!) and I spent a lovely day in the sun, sewing like there's no tomorrow. As I was already at it, my denim shorts got a bit of a makeover too.
I'm going to Positivus festival on Friday, so there will be a bit of a break in my posts, while I spend time listening to the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell and The XX and dancing my ass off! Of course, these two summer essentials are coming with me to Positivus!

Kuna ma juba olin asjaga tegelemas, said ka mu teksapüksid väikese muutuse.
Reedel lähen Positivus festivalile, seega tuleb postitustesse väike paus, samal ajal, kui ma veedan aega kuulates selliseid toredaid muusikuid nagu Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell ja The XX ja tantsides elu eest! Loomulikult tulevad need kaks suvist riideeset minuga kaasa!

One dress, three outfits #2

July 08, 2013

Here's the second part of my "dress versatility challenge". For some reason, this outfit reminded me of Taylor Swift, a lot. As I put it on, a mixtape of her songs started to play in my head. And I'm not just saying that to sound witty, it actually happened! So if there are any massive Swifty fans reading this post, I apologise for any misconceptions I might have about her. But, since this post is so overly cheeky and girlie and reminiscent of a pop-princess, let's play a game! I want you to count all the Taylor Swift song references in this post and let me know in the comments! The one who counts the most, will get a special shout-out in the next post and a lot of glory for their awesome knowledge.
On to the actual outfit! The dress kind of styles itself on its own. Every idea I had, fit with it perfectly. My second idea for this dress was to pair it with Converse sneakers and some denim and lace. OK, Taylor would never wear Converse, like.. ever. I guess she only wears short skirts while I wear sneakers with them too. I got the jacket on a recent trip to the thrift shops and I just had to save this cute little number from its probable destiny of one day lying on the cold hard ground, forgotten by everyone and completely devastated. I also got that bowtie, but paired with the outfit, it makes me feel rather 12 instead of 22.
This is by far the most fun I've ever had while writing a post and I hope you enjoyed the game as much as I did! Looking forward to your answers!
