Let's talk about pink!

October 11, 2014

Pink is a symbol for many things: girls, cuteness and Hello Kitty to name a few. The colour pink also represents breast cancer, more specifically the fight against it. October is the official month to bring attention to the disease and raise awareness with the popular pink ribbon campaign and I'm doing my part.
Breast cancer is a subject which is unfortunately too close and too relatable to me. I've lost two grandmothers to the disease, a few years ago my mother was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer (luckily the doctors were able to treat it and she beat the disease). Looking at the genetics, me, my sister and even my mother are in a huge risk group and that's not a happy place to be at. At least I kind of know that it's coming. I'll try to enjoy my boobs for as long as I can, before I have to give them up.
Knowing all that, you can probably guess why I bought myself the pink bracelet from the Jean Paul Gaultier for Lindex collection. All the profits from the sales of this bracelet go towards breast cancer research. Last year, Estonian Cancer Foundation was made 7573 euros richer by Lindex and the pink ribbon bracelets. Plus it's really pretty and I've been wearing it the whole week, so it's not only a sartorial investment, but also in my health!

Olen sellele haigusele kaotanud kaks vanaema ning mõned aastad tagasi diagnoositi mu emal varajases staadiumis rinnavähk (õnneks, kuna see avastati õigel ajal, sai mu ema haigusest võitu.)

Falling for fall

October 02, 2012

Since it is already October and I have no outfit photos to show you (because of the constant rain and my annoying illness), I thought it would be only proper to post a few inspirational pictures. Fall is such a beautiful season and kind of the last happy place before a long and cold winter.
This year I'm really falling for all kinds of plaids and the comfy kind of New-English countryside living, à la Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. And an abundance of warm sweaters and all things preppy, of course. Fall wouldn't be complete without a proper dose of preppy.

Back to cool

August 29, 2012

School starts next week, kids! Here's a little Dsquared² campaign video to get you in the mood. Or not. Unfortunately real school isn't half as fun or fabulous as it is in "The Substitutes". That short movie is by far this season's coolest ad campaign. The models are so badass, the clothes look amazing, the shoes are even more amazing and designers Dean and Dan are just adorable. Ready for school yet?

"The Substitutes" on ilmselt selle hooaja kõige lahedam reklaamikampaania. Olete kooliks juba valmis?
