Red door

October 14, 2014

I remember, about a year and a half ago, I got my first leather jacket and posted about it [here]. It seemed so surreal to me that I would have something made of leather. I've always been the preppy girlie girl, I can't turn into a badass so suddenly, I remember thinking.
Then some time ago my mother suggested that I should buy a new one, merely for practical reasons like warmth. The other is is quite flimsy, to be honest, so one day I went shopping with my dad (look at my family dynamics, taking fashion advice from mom and going shopping with dad) and we settled on this oversized "Danny from Grease"-esque jacket from New Yorker.
Might as well become a full on leather babe now. If Sandy could, then so can I.

The neverending dress

March 27, 2014

I know I say this about many of my clothes, but this dress really has grown on me and my wardrobe would be empty without it. I got it about a year ago from Fashion Union and ever since, it has been my favourite. Not only that, but over the year, it has developed some serious sentimental value. I wrote my final essay in this, it was with me when the best memories of Positivus festival was made, even my friends have worn it! If there was a "Top worn pieces of Bowtie Diary", I'm sure that this dress would be in the Top 10.

Dancing and singing inside my head

Two Door Cinema Club- The World Is Watching

On the third day of Positivus festival I once again decided to brave the cold for the sake of getting to wear pretty festival outfits, so I put on one of my favourite dresses and kept it slightly warmer with the two festival must-items: a parka jacket and wellies (with really warm socks inside). And of course, the flower crown wasn't going anywhere! Snapped on the streets by Liisa, I used the rest of my film to take pictures of musicians instead of my outfit!
This was by far the best day of the festival and I still smile a bit, when I think back to it. We started with Tom Odell, who is a real genius on the piano. He goes absolutely mental playing it and the crowd goes too! We were almost front row at his gig and stayed there for nearly 5 hours, because the act of the evening was Two Door Cinema Club, who is one of my favourite bands ever and I just didn't want to lose the spot! Their concert was amazing beyond words. It was too tight to dance or do anything normal-looking, but the crazy fangirl in me still tried, while screaming along to every single song. At The XX we decided to calm down a bit and stay at the back of the field, instead of being crammed in front. Turns out it was a brilliant decision, because as we were dancing and enjoying ourselves to the fullest, Getter spotted the TDCC guys (sans frontman Alex) and their stage crew standing right next to us. So after taking a couple of „us with the band“ photos, we started chatting about music and other stuff and it was the best end that the festival could have had.
Third day summed up: enjoying the genius that is Tom Odell, going crazy to Two Door Cinema Club and then listening to The XX with Two Door Cinema Club. Thank you Positivus 2013 for being so fucking amazing (and setting a pretty high bar for all the next ones to come!).

Kolmanda päeva kokkuvõte: nautisin geniaalse Tom Odelli muusikat, tantsisin hullumeelse Two Door Cinema Club'i esireas ja siis kuulasin The XX'i koos TDCC'ga.

Taking in the spring

Two Door Cinema Club- Spring

Firstly, I feel that I need to clear something up. I received a comment on the post where I first wore this jacket that doubted the realness of my leather jacket. Indeed, it is made of faux leather, but I figured that it was a matter that didn't need any further explanations. So now you know, that no poor animal has died for the purpose of being worn around Tallinn on my shoulders.
On to more sunny talks, I have been dreaming of wearing this outfit from the middle of winter, when I received this lovely dress from Fashion Union. It's like this dress is meant for sunny spring days and morning walks in the old town. It just happened to match perfectly with my (faux) leather jacket this morning and by throwing on my ever-so-cool vintage hat, I felt so appropriate to take in the spring. Even if it was a bit too warm in my almost all-black outfit at times...
Tomorrow I have my English exam, so wish me luck!

Homme on mul inglise keele eksam, seega soovige mulle edu!

The dress that makes me dream

March 14, 2013

Still being tormented by winter, I had to wear this dress I chose from Fashion Union in a more wintry outfit. Originally, it's a pretty lovely shirt-dress, perfect for frolicking on fields in summer or having a nice cup of coffee in a cafe in spring. These are still only dreams.. In winter, I suppose, when paired with a chunky cardigan and cold-bitten fingers, it's a nice outfit to escape to a warm house and bundle up on a couch with a cup of tea.
Anyway, aside from whining about weather, the dress is perfect. If you know me, then you might have noticed how much I love anything collared. So this dress is right up my alley. Also, the print is so fun and the fit seems like it absolutely made for me.  It felt only right to wear my vintage-looking jewellery with it.
Bare with me and hope for winter to realise that its 15 minutes of fame are over.

Sponsor Spotlight: Fashion Union

March 04, 2013

Arctic Monkeys- Fluorescent Adolescent

Starting this week off on the right foot and introducing you to my new sponsor! I recently discovered Fashion Union and jumped at the opportunity of them becoming my newest sponsor! It is such a cool online shop with a really good selection of casual-but-cool dresses and skirts, just the kind that I'm dreaming of wearing, when spring finally decides to appear. Also stocking very warm and fuzzy-looking sweaters and the most awesome boots, it's the place to go.
I'm currently listening to Arctic Monkeys, so this collage was very much inspired by their music and style. Can you guess which of these items I chose?
