Interior Inspiration From My Dutch Home

August 31, 2015

I'm setting all fashion talk aside for now, because the room that I live in here is just too gorgeous not to share. From the first moments, it felt like living in an interior magazine! And the neighbourhood is the cutest too! I guess that for an architecture nerd like myself, Utrecht is a pretty nice place to live at.
Actually I'm only staying in this room for a month, because the guy I'm renting it from is on holiday and wants to enjoy his room himself. I'm then moving in with a nice Finnish girl to a huge two-story two-bedroom flat, so consider this an official invitation! The other flat is kind of on the other side of town, in a more plain neighbourhood, but since the real estate market in here is totally crazy (so many students and only a limited number of rooms..), then I can't really complain, when I have a decent place to live and a roof over my head. Until then, I'll make the most out of this beautiful place!

Panen korraks kogu moejutu kõrvale, sest tuba, kus ma praegu elan, on liiga ilus, et see näitamata jätta. Esimestest hetkedest peale on tunne, nagu elaks mõnes skandinaavialikus sisustusajakirjas. Ja see ümbruskond on ka nii ilus! Minusugusele arhitektuurinohikule on Utrecht on vägagi õige koht, kus elada.

Sunday in New York

November 29, 2011

For the last two days I've stayed at home, because of a flu. So naturally, the best thing to do is watch movies. I came across "Sunday in New York" last night on TCM, and since it is a romantic comedy from 1963 I had to watch it. The movie was lovely, as any other romantic comedy, but what I loved most about it-the apartment where half of the movie was set.

Things I loved about the apartment:
1) It's in New York
2) It was levelled, the living room was on the main level, the bedroom was upstairs and the bar was on a lower level.
3) Since it was levelled, it had a staircase. Any apartment that has stairs is perfection in my eyes.
4) Wonderful red brick walls
5) A fireplace
6) Huge windows

To prove it to you, I found a few pictures from a blog called Silents and Talkies, which is all about old movies, woohoo !

And if you're still not convinced, take a look at this little part of the movie.
