African vibe

July 30, 2012

A few days ago it was Kaisa's birthday and since she is obsessed with everything African, we decided to take her to lunch to a place called African Kitchen. It was such a cool restaurant. All the dishes were African origin, the decor was tribal-inspired and with African colours and the overall atmosphere was so cool!
Since it was a really really hot day, I decided to wear a pair of loose shorts and a casual shirt, paired with my new thrifted necklace. With my hair in a bun, the outfit was perfect for that day. It all kind of reminds me of a safari.. and the colours of clay. Very African indeed.

p.s. You might have noticed that I changed the pictures' size. Do you like it?
Võib-olla panite tähele, et ma muutsin piltide suurust. Kuidas teile meeldib?

City life

July 27, 2012

It's so great to be back home again! I've spent the last few days meeting my friends and walking around town. Tallinn seems so interesting after being away for a week and a half.
For the first day around town, I knew that I wanted to wear heels after an overdose of flats. So I put on my highest heels and my favourite basics! That's definitely a combination that just can't go wrong.
Oh, and summer weather has been back for a few days!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Isegi Tallinn on kuidagi põnevamaks muutunud.
Reisilt tulles teadin, et tahan kohe kõrged kingad jalga panna. Seega valisin kohe kõige kõrgemad, mis mul on!
Imelist nädalavahetust!

Holiday pics

July 25, 2012

I'm baaaack! This post is all about the trip, pictures and everything. I decided to use the ones I took with my phone, I hope you don't mind the quality..  A lot of the pictures include pretty architecture, I just couldn't help it. The Scandinavians sure know how to build beautiful houses.

Our first stop was Kalmar, with its beautiful castle and a really cute old town.

The next day we went to Denmark and firstly, Copenhagen. We visited the Carlsberg museum, which was a lot more fun than I had expected and we also went on the canal tour. I loved all the little bridges and amazing houses next to the canals. Coming back to the hotel, we bought coffee and macaroons!

Kronborg castle was also amazing. It was so regal and aristocratic. In Roskilde, I visited the Dome Church which is the burial ground for many Danish kings and queens and it was just as majestic as it should be with its greatness and spectacular Gothic shape.

This amazing courtyard was also in Copenhagen. It was kind of a passage, with windows overlooking it. I don't know what I'd do for an apartment in that building.
See imeline siseõu oli ka Kopenhagenis. See oli nagu käik kahe tänava vahel. Omada korterit selles majas oleks päris mõnus.

On our forth day we went to Legoland! It's just amazing what can be built from little Lego blocks. There were huge statues, big cities with boats and trains and everything. There was even a Star Wars corner! Also, during the whole trip, I kind of overindulged on ice-cream and spent half of the evenings playing a Lego board-game with my sister and nephew.
Neljandal päeval käisime Legolandis! See tundus ikka päris uskumatu, mida väikestest klotsidest on võimalik valmis meisterdada.

Before returning to Sweden, we went to the beach, had a picnic and walked bare feet in the sand. And ate ice-cream. Right near the port was even a local palm beach, believe it or not. It would be great to spend a few days there and pretend to be in the Caribbean.

Another picture showing my love for Copenhagen. And bridges.

Gothenburg was just as great as Copenhagen. Pretty houses, beautiful people and great ice-cream. Since it was the first day with warmer weather, I took the opportunity to wear my new bowtie flip-flops from Sarenza.

We finally properly went shopping in Stockholm and then had to leave for the boat and wave goodbye to Sweden. My buys are on the last picture: two printed skirts, a floral top and white shorts. All are from H&M, except the shorts, which are from Lindex.
Alles Stockholmis käisime korralikult šoppamas, siis pidi juba laevale minema ja Rootsile tekilt lehvitama. Minu ostud on viimasel pildil, kõik peale lühikeste pükste on H&Mst.

p.s. I also drew the giveaway winner via random.org and already contacted her.

Travel wear

July 23, 2012

This is another scheduled post for my trip. Hope you liked the guest-posts! I recently got my lomo film developed and I dicscovered these two outfit photos on it. They were taken on the night of Eurovision in the end of May, but I'm wearing practically the same outfit in Denmark. So it's kind of an early outfitpost from my trip.

See on järjekordne ette postitatud sissekanne.

Guest post - Evamaria from Lost in the Wardrobe

July 19, 2012

My next guest poster for you is the lovely Evamaria from Lost in the Wardrobe. She's an Estonian blogger that I recently found and I instantly liked her blog so much. Her style is really sophisticated and very Blair-Waldorfish plus her photos are just amazing! Right now I should be somewhere in Denmark so I hope that you like her post and be sure to hop over to her blog too!

Hi!
I was very flattered when Piia asked me to do a guest post for her blog. When I first found her blog, there was a one DIY that really caught my eye. The collar seen in this post was amazing. I thought I'd like to do something like that and I got inspired of pearls on a collar. Lately, collar tips have appeared everywhere, so I decided to make my own collar tips using black beads. Here's the result.

Guest post - Sian from Rebel Angel

July 16, 2012

For this year's holiday, I decided to invite some of my favourite bloggers over to guest-post for me while I'm away. This way I won't have a sad and empty blog and you'll get to know a few cool bloggers! Right now I should be on a ship to Stockholm, at the very start of my trip, so I hope you enjoy this lovely post from Sian.

Hi there Bowtie Diary readers! I'm Sian from Rebel Angel and I'm guest posting for Piia today! I was really excited when she asked me to post for her because I absolutely adore her style and outfits, and even more excited when we came up with the idea that I do an outfit based on one of hers – it's a little bit more interesting than me just posting any old outfit! I had a lot of fun looking back through Piia's archives to decide which outfit to use, and I eventually chose this one: Sunset Florals. It just so happened that I had a pair of floral trousers that I'd bought a while ago, worn several times in one go and not blogged about them, then forgot I had them! Well, this jogged my memory, and I just had to dig them out to create this outfit!

 Blouse: Primark
Floral Trousers: Primark
Heels: New Look

I loved the way that Piia styled hers with a nude blazer and a shirt, but unfortunately I don't own a nude blazer. So I decided to go for this faithful sheer blouse with a lovely collar, then I whacked on the heels to knock it up a notch (although I haven't worn the heels out with this outfit yet, because I wasn't actually going anywhere this day, just sitting around at home!!). Trousers are not really a typical thing for me to wear; I'm a lot more of a skirts and dresses person, but sometimes I find myself reaching for a pair of trousers or jeans and loving them! Of course, if I am wearing trousers, they're bound to be printed, patterned, brightly coloured or unusual in some other way because I just can't do normal, but that's me =D
Hope you've enjoyed my post, and thank you Piia for having me here! Pop on over to see my blog at Rebel Angel and say hi!!

Le countryside + GIVEAWAY

July 13, 2012

I've spent the last week at my countryside at my aunt's, so besides eating way too much strawberries,  I've had plenty of time to work on my newest DIY project. Ever since I saw the Prada spring/summer 2012 collection I knew that I have to make myself a similar bandeau top. It's just so ridiculously easy and perfect for summer. Since I couldn't find any Prada-like muscle-car-print fabric, I chose this funky fabric with palm trees and a 90s California vibe.
Because I have just enough fabric to make another one, I decided to give one of you the opportunity to win yourself a made-to-measure Prada-inspired top! This is also my 300th post and I have the loveliest blog readers who leave the best comments, so what's not to celebrate!

The giveaway rules are simple. Just be a follower of my blog on Google Friend Connect and comment on this post with your e-mail address. The giveaway will end on the 25th of July, when I'm back from my holiday.

p.s This will be the last post from me, because I'm going on a family trip to Sweden and Denmark, but I have quite a few surprises scheduled, so check back to my blog the following week-and-a-half!

Reeglid on lihtsad.

The beach

July 07, 2012

Originally we planned to go to the beach just to take pictures, but we ended up spending an hour just taking in the sun and the sea. I think I've said it before, but I feel so lucky to be living near the sea. The air and the feel of everything is just so different on the beach. I think I should take trips to the seaside more often, just because it's so relaxing. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to dip my toes in the sea and write my blog's name on the sand.
Since it was a warm summer's day, I went with the smallest amount of clothes possible - my lace shorts and a top that I got from Gina Tricot when we went to Helsinki in June. Easy, breezy and beautiful.
Right now it's raining outside, accompanied with thunder and lightning, so I'll just enjoy an evening inside and try to finish the book I'm reading.
