Breton on the boat

August 15, 2014

I finally got the film in my old camera developed and discovered this set of very windy pictures on it! These were taken in June, when the weather was far from summery and a light coat was more than necessary. I was just en route to Saaremaa with my family, having just been to Pärnu for almost a week, so I'd taken with me the biggest basics. You know, to survive a week away from home with a normal-sized luggage. These pictures are (obviously!) taken on the boat, hence the overwhelming wind. Don't you just think that a breton is the only right thing to wear while on the sea, even if it's just for thirty minutes?

The beach vol.2

August 02, 2012

I spent last Saturday at the beach with my family,  taking in as much of the sea and the sun as I could. I also went swimming for the first time this year! My outfit for the beach was just a simple crochet dress and my new flats. And of course, a hat to protect me from getting a sunstroke.
I also wanted to thank you all for the wonderful comments on my last post. To be honest, that was one of my least favourite outfits lately and your kind words made me like it a lot more. You are all amazing and don't let anyone tell you you're not.

The beach

July 07, 2012

Originally we planned to go to the beach just to take pictures, but we ended up spending an hour just taking in the sun and the sea. I think I've said it before, but I feel so lucky to be living near the sea. The air and the feel of everything is just so different on the beach. I think I should take trips to the seaside more often, just because it's so relaxing. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to dip my toes in the sea and write my blog's name on the sand.
Since it was a warm summer's day, I went with the smallest amount of clothes possible - my lace shorts and a top that I got from Gina Tricot when we went to Helsinki in June. Easy, breezy and beautiful.
Right now it's raining outside, accompanied with thunder and lightning, so I'll just enjoy an evening inside and try to finish the book I'm reading.

You know you're gonna make mistakes

July 22, 2011

Last Saturday, Getter and I went to the flea market. When we went out, it was a clear, sunny weather, but when we got to the flea market, it was pouring rain and of course we didn't have an umbrella with us. So we basically ran through the whole thing and then went to F-Hoone to have tea and dry. At first I was wearing my brown cardigan, but I bought this new white one and I switched into it afterwards because dry cardigan beats wet and cold cardigan any time. And because of the rain and humid weather my hair turned into a curly mess, but now, looking at those pictures, it doesn't look that bad. It's fun to have really curly hair instead of my usual waves.
After the flea market we visited the Tallinn Maritime Days. I wanted to see a ship called Krusenstern, mostly because my grandfather has sailed on it. It looked spectacular, the contrast between the modern ships and the old wooden ship was amazing. And then the sky turned really dark and evil and it was a perfect background for the ship.

We've got obsessions

July 02, 2011

Yesterday evening I went to see the Song and Dance Celebration which is an extremely important and famous event here in Estonia. People all over the country come together and sing and dance our folk songs and dances and national songs. There are thousands of dancers and they form different shapes. It's really wonderful. Of course where I sat, I couldn't really see the shapes.. Yesterday was the opening and the first show of the Dance Celebration. On Sunday I'm going to see the Song Celebration also which is even more powerful !

And a really really big thank you to all my 100 wonderful followers !

The duckling

June 28, 2011

I went to the seaside to snap these photos with my sister and we encountered a swan couple and little ducklings.
Summer break is pretty much the same as it has been so far. Watching a lot of HIMYM, reading a bit... Tomorrow I'm going thrift shopping with Getter and on Thursday I might go to the beach. Let's see how it turns out :)
