My mom was visiting for the weekend and in addition to thrift shopping, eating lunch and dessert at different cafes and just plain walking around (not in those heels, though), we also went to the theatre. I haven't properly gone to see a play in ages and it really came to me how much I like the activity itself, regardless of the play. Allow me to make a list and explain:

Finally having a reason for dressing up. I wore the outfit below and oh-how-great it was to put on that red lace beauty and wear heels and a bowtie and all that jazz. 

Perfume. The smell of my very first perfume reminds me of going to the theatre and when sitting down to watch the play, I love the cloud of tens of fragrances around me.

Architecture. Theatre buildings usually tend to be works of art and so are the halls, so before the play starts, I'm usually sitting with my head tilted as far back as I can, admiring the ceilings and chandeliers. 

Peoplewatching during intermission. It's one of my favourite things to do and the intermission was practicaly invented for that. 

Going home in a taxi. Yes, I pretend that it's the only acceptable form of public transport. 

Mu ema oli sel nädalavahetusel mul Tartus külas ja lisaks kaltsukates käimisele, erinevates kohvikutes lõunatamisele ja lihtsalt jalutamisele (mitte nendes kingades), käisime me ka teatris. Ma pole tõeliselt kaua korralikult teatris käinud ja mulle tuli taas meelde kui väga mulle see tegevus meeldib, hoolimata etendusest mida ma vaatama lähen. Lubage ma teen väikese nimekirja ja selgitan: 

Põhjus end üles lüüa. Kandsin seda riietust, mida allpool näete ja oi-kui-hea oli jälle seda punast pitskleiti kanda, kõrged kingad jalga panna, lipsuke juustesse lükata ja kogu enesekaunistamise protsess korralikult läbi teha. 

Parfüüm. Minu kõige esimese lõhnaõli lõhn meenutab mulle teatris käimist ja alati, kui olen saalis maha istunud, meeldib mulle nuusutada seda kümnete lõhnade pilve enda ümber.

Arhitektuur. Teatrihooned on tavaliselt kunstiteosed ning enamasti ei jää ka saalid neile alla, seega enne, kui etendus algab, istun ma tavaliselt pea kuklas ja imetlen lage.

Vaheajal inimeste vaatamine. See on üleüldse üks mu lemmiktegevusi ja vaatuste vaheajad on selleks lausa loodud. 

Taksoga koju sõitmine. Jah, ma teesklen, et see on minu jaoks ainus mõeldav ühistranspordiliik.

Spring Awakening / Kevadine ärkamine

Just a head's up, today's post is slightly different from my usual ones.
About a week ago, last Sunday, I went to the theatre. Not a very special occasion for me, but this time it was special. The girl who played the lead role is my best friend. In addition to being an incredible actress and an incredible friend, she is also my blog's photographer. She is the key ingredient behind every outfit post, because without her and her amazing camera, this blog wouldn't probably exist.
Maybe you have heard about the smash-hit Broadway musical "Spring Awakening", maybe not. It is a story about the youth of the 19th century, unaware of their feelings and of how life works. It's a story about discovering themselves and just as quickly losing what they had found. On Broadway, the lead role was played by Lea Michele, in Estonia's adaption it is played by Getter Meresmaa. We always knew that she would eventually turn out to be an actress, but none of my friends would have guessed that it would be so soon. We went to see the premiere and it was absolutely stunning. All the energy and the magic happening on stage was unbelievable. Words can't express how proud I am of her.
I leave with some pictures of the play and the only picture I could find of the overemotional friends gathering around Getter just minutes after she had got off stage, tearing up and smiling at the same time (just as I am now..)

Lihtsalt väikese hoiatusena, tänane postitus on minu tavalistest üpriski erinev.
Umbes nädal aega tagasi, eelmisel pühapäeval, käisin ma teatrin. See pole minu puhul just eriti ebatavaline sündmus, kuid sel korral oli see tõesti eriline. Nimelt peaosas oli minu parim sõbranna. Peale selle, et ta on vapustav näitleja ja suurepärane sõber, on ta ka mu blogi fotograaf. Ta on täiesti asendamatu taustajõud iga postituse taga ning ilma temata seda blogi sellisel kujul ilmselt ei eksisteeriks.
Loodetavasti olete kuulnud muusikalist "Kevadine ärkamine" või näinud linnas selle veidi provokatiivseid plakateid. See on lugu 19.sajandi noortest, kellel pole aimugi oma tunnetest ega sellest, kuidas asjad maailmas tgelikult käivad. See on lugu eneseavastamisest ja sama kiirelt ka kõige leitu kaotamisest. Broadway'l mängis peaosa Glee-staar Lea Michele, Eesti versoonis on selleks ei keegi muu kui Getter Meresmaa. Me teadsime tegelikult kogu aeg, et temast saab lõpuks näitleja, kuid keegi meie sõprusringkonnast ei osanud arvata, et see nii kiiresti juhtub. Loomulikult käisime esietendust vaatamas ja see oli täiesti vapustav. Kogu lavaline energia ja maagia oli lummav. Ei ole sõnu iseloomustamaks seda, kui uhke ma Getteri üle olen. Kui te veel ei ole endale piletit soetanud, siis kindlasti tehke seda. Kui juba olete vaatamas käinud, minge veel (mina igatahes lähen!).
Lõpetuseks jätan teile paar imeilusat pilti etendusest ja ainukese pildi mille ma suutsin leida Getteri ümber kogunevatest üliemotsionaalsetest sõpradest, kes üritavad samal ajal nutta ja naerda (nagu minagi praegu..).

The parrot skirt

Firstly, I'd like to thank you for your sympathetic comments on my last post. I bet the loafers are in shoe-heaven now..
Yesterday was an oh-so-cultural day for me. First, I went to the art museum KUMU with my sister. It was so nice to take a break from everyday life and walk trough three floors of masterpieces. And I can't believe I hadn't properly seen it's architecture from the front. It's just breathtaking. Gotta love being a tourist in my own hometown. In the evening I went to the theatre with my mom to enjoy two actors playing at least 5 roles each and almost burst into laughs on the stage.
Continuing with the animal theme from my last outfit post I decided to wear a whole flock of parrots on my skirt to go to the theatre. When I saw the skirt at an H&M in Gothenburg during our trip, I knew I had to have it. It's just the fun and impractical piece of clothing to have, that goes with pretty much nothing. Luckily I managed to come up with this combination and pair it with my slouchy black knit and feminine accessories.
Tonight I'm going to see "The Intouchables" to check out what all the fuss around this movie is about.

Veetsin eilse päeva väga kultuurselt, külastades kõigepealt KUMUt ja siis Linnateatrit. Avastasin üllatusega, et kuigi ma olen mitu korda KUMUs käinud, ei ole ma kunagi näinud seda ehitist eestpoolt. See on lihtsalt hingematvalt võimas arhtitektuur! Linnateatris käisin vaatamas etendust "Kivid sinu taskutes", kus Indrek Ojari ja Argo Aadli mängisid kahekesi kõiki rolle ja peaaegu purskasid laval naerma. 
Jätkates loomatemaatiliste riietustega, otsustasin kanda seda H&M'i papagoiseelikut. Seda nähes teadsin, et ma kindalt tahan selle osta, mis sest, et seda on päris raske millegagi kokku sobitada. Õnneks sobis see mu musta kampsuniga, lisades naiselikke aksessuaare.
Täna õhtul lähen kinno vaatama filmi "1+1", et näha miks see film nii eriline on, et seansid on 3 päeva ette välja müüdud!

Black on black on black

 Lana Del Rey- Dark paradise

Here's something you rarely see me wearing- all black. The beautiful blue sky on the background actually makes the outfit look less dramatic than I thought it was. I think that the key to wearing black (or any other colour) head-to-toe is mixing different textures, patterns and lengths to make it a bit interesting.
I wore this outfit to the theatre yesterday. Getter got me tickets for my birthday, so it was a lovely way of getting away from the routine, even though I didn't like the play that much.
Also, I've been listening to Lana Del Rey way too much lately.

Pealaest jalatallani musta kandmas ei näe mind just tihti. Mulle on jäänud mulje, et sellise riietuse võti peitub erinevate kangaste, mustrite ja pikkustega mängimises, mis muudab kogu komplekti vähegi põnevamaks.
Käisin eile Getteriga teatris vaatamas etendust "Ajuloputus". Ma tegelikult ei oska selle kohta midagi öelda, sest tundub, et see jaotab publiku kahte äärmusesse. Getter käis seda teist korda vaatamas ja lubas ka kolmandat korda minna, kuna see mõjus talle tohutult ja meeldis väga. Mina vaatasin etendust kuidagi eemalolevalt ja kuigi ma sain põhiideest aru, ei avaldanud see mulle mingit sügavat mõju. Kuigi jah, nukunäitlemise tase oli ikka väga kõrge. Kes ei tea, siis see räägib sõltuvuses inimestest, kes üritavad oma pahedest vabaneda. Iga sõltuvust sümboliseerib inimese kaelas olev ahvike, kes patsientidele tegelikult meeldib, kuigi ta on nende vihavaenlane. 
Ja veel seda, et olen viimasel ajal väga palju Lana Del Rey'd kuulanud ja veel ei saa küllalt !

Coppelia

On Thursday I went to the theatre to see a ballet. It was called "Coppelia", and it was a cute love story between a living man and a doll, who has been given a soul. It was very simple, cute and girly :)
