Shopping List: Cat Print Goodness

August 24, 2015

You'd be surprised about the abundance of cat-print clothes on the web. It all varies on a scale from "I think cats are cute" to "I want ten cats, plus all of them on my dress", so inspired by my last post, where I also wore a pretty outstanding kitty print dress, here are four purrfect (couldn't resist the pun!) garments to get your paws on (another one!).
I actually think that the Lazy Oaf shirt is a nice alternative for a basic white shirt and since everyone needs one of those anyway, then why not have a little nose and whiskers on it? And those twirly dresses would be perfect for late summer picnics or maybe visiting an animal shelter (if you're into thematic dressing), to keep the abandoned kitties happy with a few friendly pets and a tin of tuna.
Also, you probably noticed my little week-long hiatus from the blog. I was travelling around Estonia and as much as I tried, I really didn't feel like blogging. I just took a week full of vacation from everything. However, I'm back with three outfits waiting to be shown on the blog, a beauty post and definitely something more!

Tegelikult on näiteks see Lazy Oafi vurrudega särk ideaalne alternatiiv tavalisele valgele särgile, mida on kõigil niikuinii vaja ja mida mina endale praegu otsingi.

Spring Blooms and Neon Lips

April 10, 2015

It really feels like spring these days. Let's just hope that it stays like that, I am definitely over the windy non-spring. Why? If it isn't obvious, then I want to continue wearing my floral dresses and maybe ditch the sweater and opaques the next time.
This floral darling came with me from Barcelona. I was actually on the verge of getting a more girlie, less sixties, slightly less floral dress from Stradivarius, but when I saw this one at Zara I instantly changed my mind. If you know me at all, you'll also know that I'm all for anything collared and lately I've really liked that sixties cut. The dress actually reminds me of something my grandmother might have worn back in the day.
As you can see, I've also got a fedora hat! After complaining about needing one in a recent post, my friend said that she has a barely worn hat that's too small for her and just sitting in her room. Not anymore!

See ilus kleit tuli minuga Barcelonast kaasa.

Here to stay

November 19, 2014

So, as you can see, I decided to not chop my hair off. I feel that everyone's doing it right now and it wouldn't be that original. I decided to experiment with a middle parting instead, if you can call that a hair-style change.
Also, the knee socks aren't going anywhere. Brace yourselves, that schoolgirl look is what I'm going to be wearing all winter long. They go especially well with my new dress that was pretty much the only thing I bought at Helsinki. It's the perfect everyday dress and I promise that it looks really cute without the jacket. It's got short sleeves and a keyhole buttoning on the back, but that'll all have to wait until spring.
What is also here to stay, is that terrible cold. I'm still pretending not to notice it and choose shoes instead on boots in the morning when I go out, but it seems that it can't go on for long.

Veiled

November 05, 2014

Third day of fashion week and here's what I wore. A dress from New Yorker that I'd bought for Halloween. Equally as fitting for fashion week, but if you want to see the more bloody Halloween edition, head to my Instagram. I like the underpinnings trend vibe on it and gladly took the chance to wear something that might also be a nightgown (not as Rihanna did though..).
Then there's the veiled headband with toses on it. I actually wanted one from H&M that had just a row of black roses on it, but during my pre-fashion-show shopping, I didn't spot it in the store, so I settled for this one. It was either roses or rabbit ears.
Again, pictures by Anete Palmik, our star-photographer for fashion bloggers. And thanks, Kamilla, for keeping me company!

Moenädala kolmas päev ja minu seljas oli... New Yorkerist allahindlusega ostetud kleit, mida tahtsin tegelikult Halloweenil kanda.
Pildid jälle Anete Palmiku, eesti moeblogijate staarfotograafi poolt.

Pleats, please

September 15, 2014

Or more like properly ironed and not wrinkly pleats, please. I ordered this dress ages ago and it must have been just thrown into the bag, so it just stayed there in my closet, hanging sadly. Then again, what do you expect from a $7 dress? The material kind of seems like when I touch it with an iron, it will melt or stain and be ruined forever and I haven't dared to try yet. So try to look past the awfully non-ironed pleats.
Other than that, I like the cut, the colour and most of all the bow, so I didn't want to send it back.  I'll try to be smarter the next time. After all, it made for such a proper back to school outfit.

Lõppude lõpuks sobis see väga hästi nende koolihõnguliste piltide peale, taustaks vana hea Emajõgi.

Forest fairy

August 31, 2014

Last Sunday. A beautiful late summer's day on the riverbank of Pärnu with the talented Alina Birjuk (check her stuff here) and her camera. I'll shut up and let the pictures do the talking this time.

Scandinavian cool

August 24, 2014

You know, how in all the Swedish-Danish streetstyle blogs people seem to wear the simplest, most basic clothes and still look like the coolest things on Earth? Well, when I saw this dress on the rack for 8 euros, that was the first thing that came to my mind. The second was, whether I'm cool enough to pull it off. After considering buying it, actually buying it and wearing it for two days, I'm sure that I am.
The dress is plain enough to keep all the attention on my new backpack, which I just can't seem to not take everywhere with me, but more on that in my next post. (Yes, I'm that sneaky.) Of course, I couldn't go full-normcore with the dress and wore my silver brogues too. These shoes keep bringing me back to this cool location. Remember April?

Need ikka viivad mind kogu aeg sinna lahedasse nurgakesse tagasi. Aprilli mäletate?

Another side of summer sun

August 10, 2014

You've already seen this dress in a more "it's so cold, but I'm going to pretend it's not" spring outfit here, but this time, when invited to see Baltika Group's fall/winter fashion show, I remember this beauty and its amazing back cut-out. So it got a nice little summer-moment with only black pumps and a masculine watch as accessories, nicely photographed for the archives of Bowtie Diary by my mother. Also, I have to mention once again that a dress that has pockets is an instant winner in any book.
The show itself was, in addition to being a sauna, quite nice. I say nice and not any other much bigger word, because I've seen Baltika do so much greater ones. I remember two seasons ago, I wanted absolutely everything from Monton's collection and a few things from the other brands. This time I liked a few dresses, a coat and a pair of trousers. Still, I'm waiting for the sales to treat myself with something nice.

Moe-show ise oli, lisaks saunalaadsele temperatuurile, päris tore.

A story about porcelain

August 07, 2014

That one day I went to H&M with my sister (It's cool that I can say that because we've upgraded and now, as the rest of the world, house a few eich'n'ems in our country.) and we weren't looking for anything specific. Then I noticed this pretty porcelain-pattern dress hanging on the window and behind it, on the table, was a pair of shorts with the same pattern. That kind of white-and-blue pattern is so hot right now (as Mugatu would say) and I'd been eyeing stuff with it on the internet a lot. So when I found something in the shop I kind of wanted it. I'm not the most shorts-wearing-girl, so however pretty they were, I turned to the dress. Why is my sister important in this story? Well, she too liked the dress. Since we're about the same size, we grabbed the dress and headed for the changing rooms. Guess what, it was a perfect fit for the both of us, but in a cool different way. Neither of us really needed another dress and we kept making up apologies (10 euros for a dress is cheap, but it's still money; kind of a skimpy material; how many warm days are there going to be anyway; ...). The solution: we split the money and both got the dress, no sibling rivalry about who should get to own it. It's hanging in my closet, but she has just as much right to wear it as I do and it's a great deal and I want to buy more clothes for sharing.

Miks mu õde selles loos oluline on? Sest talle meeldis ka see kleit. Kuna me oleme enam-vähem sama mõõtu, haarasime kleidi ja seadsime sammud riietusruumi poole.

Dolled up

July 25, 2014

Right after Positivus (pictures of that coming as soon as I get my film developed. #90s) I got to wear lots fancier clothes and head to a society-fashion event! From the dusty fields to the beautiful garden in Kadriorg, I couldn't have been happier with city life. Even more, it gave me the opportunity to wear one of my favourite dresses (which has been on the blog before here and  here). You know the feeling when you kind of start missing a piece of clothing and need to wear it asap? I'd missed this dress and with a leather jacket and my vintage heels it was the perfect outfit for a girlie evening watching the Tallinn Dolls fashion show.

Red velvet

May 20, 2014

Hola, friends! The second edition of my collaboration with Kutshimutshi is here! I chose a pretty, deep-back red velvet dress and added a very special necklace to it, just to hang on my balcony and pretend I'm actually in a beautiful Italian palazzo or overlooking a Parisian street. For now, Tartu will have to do.
What drew me to this dress was of course the bow finishing the back. But after I'd tried it on, I remembered that I once bought a very similar dress from some flea market with the idea of redesigning it in some way, possibly making it shorter and giving it a low back. My ideas didn't turn to reality and I sold the dress again. After my visit to Kutshimutshi, I'd like to think that the one I'm wearing here is the exact same dress and faith brought our ways together again.

Not at Coachella

April 20, 2014

I'm terribly sorry for the silence on the blog. Don't worry, I haven't disappeared under a rock or dramatically fled to another country. I've actually been under a heavy load of schoolwork and gone to Pärnu for the weekend. Being in the summer capital is ever-so-teasing, because the weather actually feels like summer, tourists take over the streets and daily ice creams are a must, but in the back of my head there's still the shadow of school on Monday.
All that didn't stop me from dressing like it's the middle of summer or that I actually want to be at Coachella (I do, though), floral crown and everything. Also, how cool is that dress? I got it from Forever 21, while in Dublin, mostly because of the zip halfway through the dress. My friends thought it's ridiculously tacky, but to me, it's has the perfect 90s aura.
