Summer On Film

August 01, 2015

I'd like to think that these shots are like something out of a dreamy 80s indie-film, when in reality it's (just) my life and two summer days in Tartu, visiting my boyfriend. He's got a bit more advanced old film camera than I do and last summer two of his films didn't turn out that well, so we made this one count and snapped away the whole day. It was a lazy beach day, then a little cafe date and then sunset on another little beach. Enjoy those carefree pictures and most of all, your weekend!

Breton on the boat

August 15, 2014

I finally got the film in my old camera developed and discovered this set of very windy pictures on it! These were taken in June, when the weather was far from summery and a light coat was more than necessary. I was just en route to Saaremaa with my family, having just been to Pärnu for almost a week, so I'd taken with me the biggest basics. You know, to survive a week away from home with a normal-sized luggage. These pictures are (obviously!) taken on the boat, hence the overwhelming wind. Don't you just think that a breton is the only right thing to wear while on the sea, even if it's just for thirty minutes?

September 26, 2012

* St.Petersburg, I love you.

As I wrote in my last post, I spent the past weekend in St.Petersburg with my class and I can surely say that I fell completely in love with that city! It was all I had hoped and dreamed of and more! We visited some truly magical castles and gardens and almost every step oozed with the grace and royalty of the Russian Empire.
Being a proper tourist, I took pictures of everything important (which also includes about 10 fountains in Peterhof). I only took my old film-camera with me and sadly, some of the pictures didn't turn out that great. I hope you enjoy these stunning views of my new favourite city and maybe consider this city as your next travel destination! If I could, I'd go back in a minute.

On film

March 13, 2012

I've finally got the film full, had the pictures developed and scanned them in, so I can share these little snaps on my winter caught on film with my cool vintage camera. A lot of them came out really blurry, because I never learn to take the pictures from a distance.
The first picture is of the Louboutin socks that Getter made me for Christmas and the last picture is taken at my school's fashion show.

All your dreams are just a blink away

October 31, 2011

Since I have no crazy Halloween pictures to show, then here's a few snaps from the past months. Getter recently got her lomo film and the pictures look so great !
Though it feels quite bad to look at such summery and warm pictures now, since it's so dark and cold outside.

pictures from our shoot at Patarei.

Island trip part 2 - Hiiumaa ( and a little bit of Saaremaa )

July 31, 2011

Here's the last batch of pictures of my trip.
On the third day we went hiking on Vilsandi, but all I would have to show you are nature views( and hiking clothes, but c'mon..).
The fourth day took us (thrift)shopping to Kuressaare. I got myself a really pretty skirt that I'm sure you'll see soon and also the bowtie bracelet from one of my previous posts.

Family portrait taken with my lomo at a spot where land ends and the sea takes over. It was crazy windy in there and waves came from both sides.
At Kõpu lighthouse, one of the biggest in Estonia. It was even windier in there so I had to hold my skirt and my hat all the time..

Vanajõe valley was a really sweet place. The river in the bottom of the valley was really curvy and fun to watch. And there were also blueberries which just happen to be my favourites.
Angla windmills at Saaremaa. These are also things that you can find scattered all over Estonia, but the are still interesting. Of course I had to climb to every single one just to realize that they all looked the same inside. :)
Really adorable little goats at Angla.
 I was wearing:
thrifted skirt
thirfted top
vintage bangles from my mom
hat from seppälä
random brand ballerinas

Island trip part 1- Hiiumaa

July 29, 2011

As you might remember, I spent most of last week discovering the two biggest islands in Estonia - Saaremaa and Hiiumaa. And now I've finally got round to posting the pictures !!

So the first day took us on a ferry and to Hiiumaa. We explored quite a lot of places, unfortunately I don't have decent photos of all of them. The distances between the sights were ridiculously small to cover by car. We actually came across the same cyclists almost everywhere we went.

I'll be spending this weekend at Viljandi Folk festival. I hadn't actually planned to go, I was already looking forward to a quiet weekend at Otepää, but then my mom won a day-pass for two to the folk festival and now I'm going. See you there, everyone !
At Lehtma beach. The water was quite cold to go swimming plus there were jellyfish.
Soera farm museum. There are many such museums scattered all over the country and they are all just as nice as this one. The adults in our little group were quite interested in the home-made beer, though.
Estonian version of the Hill of Crosses(last year I visited a much bigger and more spiritual one in Lithuania). Nowadays it is a tradition for everyone who comes to Hiiumaa for the first time to put a little cross up there. They are usually made of branches that are found in the woods.

My dad at Tahkuna lighthouse( the next 3 pictures are also taken there) . It was my most favourite sight of the whole trip, I have no idea why, but I just liked it ! :)

The view from the top of the lighthouse, mostly just sea. But it felt really liberating to see the sea pretty much everywhere you go and have the smell of the sea in my hair at the end of the day.

A wine kitchen from some hundred years ago to end our day. Nothing special, but just.. scenic. It is one of the last surviving parts of and old manor complex.

The first and fourth pictures are taken with my lomo, I finally got the film full and the pictures developed!

if they watch, let them watch

Another bunch of Getter's lomo pictures. The whole film came out perfectly, so it was really hard to make a selection. You can see more pictures on my tumblr.
